After an incredible first year, we’re excited to make this year’s tournament even bigger and better. We are so grateful for the amazing support shown for the scholarship fund established in Bill’s name, and we can’t wait to come together again for another unforgettable day on the course.

Registration for the 2nd Annual Big Time Golf Tournament opens tomorrow, Tuesday May 26th at 9 a.m. Link for registration will be posted at that time. Make sure you get your foursome reserved as we are anticipating it will sell out very quickly based off of interest from last year.

Because of this community, the inaugural Big Time Golf Tournament made a real impact -- over $11,000 in scholarships will be distributed to six local high school students this spring.

Together, golfers, sponsors, donors, and supporters helped grow the Bill Smith III Memorial Scholarship Fund through the Luzerne Foundation — creating opportunities for local student-athletes who lead with sportsmanship, humility, dedication, and heart.

This tournament was built to celebrate the kind of person Bill was:

🍽️ Loved great food and great people
❤️ Always showed up for others

After an incredible inaugural year, we’re building on that momentum with another unforgettable day of golf, community, and purpose—continuing a legacy that makes a lasting impact across Luzerne County.

Proceeds from the tournament benefit the Bill Smith III Memorial Scholarship Fund through the Luzerne Foundation, providing scholarships to local student-athletes who exemplify Bill’s spirit, character, and heart.

This tournament was held in honor of Bill Smith III. Bill left us far too soon but his spirit, kindness and love for life continue to inspire us everyday. He had a way of making you feel special and always knew how to put a smile on your face, something he still has the power to do as he watches down on us from above. His legacy will forever live on in the laughter shared, stories told and the friendships he built.
