Texas YALL, Young Active Labor Leaders YALL - Young Active Labor Leaders, Texas AFL-CIO. Labor Friendly Page to help educate, motivate, enc And this isn’t just a U.S. problem—it’s global.

Born out of the AFL-CIO young worker program, YALL was formed to unite our generations workers and activists to build a strong movement of motivated workers. Today’s young workers are part of the largest generation to enter the workforce since the baby boomers. People born between the late 1970s and 2000 also make up the most diverse and technologically savvy generation in America’s history. But t

hey suffer the nation’s highest unemployment—about twice the national average—and the fewest job opportunities in today’s economy. Yet this generation of young workers is active, engaged and ready to reverse economic and social injustice. With students, civil and human rights advocates, LGBTQ activists and many others, young union members and nonunion workers are coming together in a powerful force.

Denial of citizenship is a deprivation of ‘property and life and all that makes life worth living.’” Trump’s order means “countless children born on U.S. soil would be rendered undocumented and subject to removal from the United States. An untold number would become effectively stateless.

“U.S.-born children would be forced to live at constant risk of exploitation or deportation to a country they have never known,” the brief declares.

Such a situation would be a massive downward pressure on not just wages of the working-class majority but on all of their living conditions.

The nation’s largest labor federation listed powerful examples. Its first involved two medical specialists in the U.S. after training at the University of Illinois-Chicago and overseas in transplantation surgery. Both used initials to preserve their privacy. Both are in the U.S. on special visas. The husband is a member of the Committee of Interns and Residents, a Service Employees International Union sector. Their first child, born in the U.S., turns a year old in April.

The couple “hope to establish meaningful careers, raise a family, and contribute to the United States,” the brief says. The wife, Dr. G., says they want to settle here both to help low- and moderate-income people receive outstanding medical care and because “the United States is the world’s leading country in the field of medical innovation and research.”

There’s power in collective action. Let’s finish this contract, Starbucks!

After thousands of workers engaged in the longest ULP strike in Starbucks’ history, union baristas sent over a reasonable list of solutions to some of the biggest issues we see in our stores. And now, the company has agreed to resume contract negotiations with us. In 2024, our union and the company worked together and tentatively agreed to many improvements to our stores before the company broke their commitment to a path forward with us.

Our proposals include a new $17 minimum wage floor nationwide, three baristas on the floor at all times, expanded protections around everything from scheduling to discipline to safety, a fair dress code, and much more. This is only because of the continued action of Starbucks partners around the country. When we fight, we win! If you’re an ally or Starbucks customer, sign our No Contract No Coffee pledge to get updates from union baristas and calls to action in your area. www.nocontractnocoffee.org

If you’re a Starbucks partner, now is the time to organize and include your voice in your union! www.SBworkersunited.org

This afternoon several organizations, including young workers from the Dallas area, came out onto the Northhaven Bridge, to call out the Trump regime's unlawful and inhumane blockade of Cuba.

Actions such as this place suffering on ordinary people and are thus anti-worker. The labor movement holds a commitment against oppression and cruelty in all its forms. END the blockade!

The Young Active Labor Leaders stand in solidarity with Dolores Huerta and every survivor whose voice was trampled by a movement that was supposed to advocate for ALL workers.

We are deeply saddened by the news of the credible accusations of sexual violence against Cesar Chavez and the harm he has done to many in the labor movement. We are also incredibly grateful for Dolores Huerta and the survivors who have spoken their truth and shared their stories.

YALL is committed to building a labor organizing culture that protects workers from violence, refuses to stay silent in the face of injustice, and lives up to the promise it makes to all workers.

Texas YALL Statement Condemning the US war on Iran

The Texas Young Active Labor Leaders (YALL) unequivocally condemns the US and Israel’s illegal and unjust war on Iran. Just as we were lied to about the “threat of weapons of mass destruction”, leaving over 1 million Iraqis and thousands of servicemen killed, we are being lied to now about Iran being a threat to US national security. And we will not fall for another war based on lies.

This is a war of choice that could lead to untold destruction and death of working people in the region, including U.S. service members, and is being paid for by our tax dollars. While social services are being eviscerated and millions of working people in the U.S. are working paycheck to paycheck and paying exorbitant costs for healthcare and housing, the Trump administration is dragging us into a war that costs upwards of one billion dollars a day. While weapons manufacturers and billionaires profit, the working class suffers.

YALL stands with the vast majority of Americans who are against Trump’s regime change war and recognizes that the labor movement has a duty to stand for working class interests here in the US and around the world and to actively fight against another war that will only benefit the billionaire class.

We call on our members and all working class allies to mobilize their communities and organizations, to call for an immediate end to the war on Iran, and to instead use our tax dollars to address the dire affordability crisis in the United States. Money for the people’s needs, not the US war machine!

Education Austin condemns the devastating attacks on Iran that have killed civilians, including students and educators, and destroyed schools. Bombing places of learning is an attack on the fundamental right of every child to an education.

Our solidarity with students and educators does not stop at national borders. While trillions are allocated to war, our schools continue to be underfunded and our communities asked to do more with less. The struggle for fully funded public education is connected to the fight against policies that prioritize militarization over human needs.

Educators have a responsibility to speak out when schools and children are targeted anywhere in the world.

Take action today:
Call your representatives: 5calls.org/issue/stop-iran-war/
Send a message to Congress: https://resist.bot/petitions/PXFACG

Stand with students. Stand with educators. Demand an end to the attacks on schools and an end to this war.
