Flashback Friday: this crew started with FFL back in elementary school. Fast forward
✅ One’s serving in the Navy
✅ One’s entering her 1st year of college as a sophomore on full scholarship
✅ One just entered his freshman year of college
✅ AND, one just started her HS senior year, will graduate with her associates degree, plus working a part time afterschool job!

🙌🏽 Proud doesn’t even cover it.

Leadership includes understanding the history that shaped our communities. ✊🏽📚

During our time in Oakland, California, our young leaders visited the Black Panther Party Museum and explored another side of the movement’s legacy, community service.

Founded in Oakland in 1966, the Black Panther Party developed community programs that included free breakfast for children, health services, education, and medical screenings, including testing for sickle cell anemia.

For our students, this visit was about looking beyond a headline and understanding how people identified needs in their communities and organized to address them.

History. Service. Advocacy. Leadership.

Exposure like this challenges our young leaders to ask an important question: What will you do to strengthen your community? 💚

Four scholars. One campus. A moment none of them will forget.

College tours aren’t just field trips, they’re first steps toward a decision that changes everything. These four stood under this eagle 🦅 back in October 2025 not knowing yet that University of North Texas would become home. Now it is.

Real memories are made when scholars can picture themselves somewhere before they ever apply. That’s the power of showing them the world early.

Beneath the redwoods, we stood still.

No steps to count, no schedule to chase. Just towering giants, filtered light, and the quiet hum of something greater than us.

Our scholars closed their eyes and breathed in the stillness of Muir Woods, tracing centuries in the bark, listening to the natural streams and wind move through branches older than memory.

For a moment, the noise of the world fell away, and what remained was gratitude for the marvelous work of the Creator, and for the gift of standing inside it.

Some lessons can’t be taught. They can only be felt.
