**A Sweet Thank You From One of Our Past Recipients**
Recently we received a heartfelt note from someone whose life was touched by your generosity. Moments like these remind us why our mission matters — and why our community of donors is so special.
**To all our donors:** thank you for showing up with compassion, consistency, and kindness. Your support continues to create real impact for real people, and this message is just one of many that reflect the difference you make.
We’re grateful for you, always. We copied this from a PDF file, as unable to upload PDF to Facebook, apologies in advance for any spacing errors. Please see the note below:
---Dear Rebekah Leah Rivera Foundation donors,
I wanted to send a message to thank you so for your support and update you on my endeavors. I was fortunate enough to receive the Spirit of Love Scholarship in 8th grade to attend Bishop Lynch High School, where I graduated as the valedictorian. Then, I also received the college Spirit of Love scholarship to attend the University of Rochester. During my undergraduate years, I studied chemical engineering. I received the Albert K. Ackoff award my junior year for being the top third-year chemical engineering student. I was also admitted into the Tau Beta Pi and Phi Beta Kappa honor societies and graduated Summa Cum Laude with highest distinction. Outside of academics, I was involved on campus
by being a teaching assistant, a tour guide, and a member of the club women’s rugby team. I was also actively involved in the Catholic community on campus, serving on the executive board for 2 years. I continued to serve the community by tutoring kids at the Rochester Boys and Girls Club and being involved in many science demonstrations for local elementary school students. I would not have had the opportunity to explore these interests had it not been for your generous support. With your assistance, I was able to graduate debt free, and am on the path of my next trajectory in life. I am excited to continue my educational journey by pursuing a Master’s in chemical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology. After I receive this degree in 2026, I hope to work for a chemical company to help make industrial processes more sustainable.
Thank you again for supporting my dream,
Julia Kubes
