Foster needed!!
Daisy is an 7 year-old spayed Owner Surrender currently in San Angelo. She is UTD on shots. She is friendly to the staff and the shelter will test her for cat friendly later today.
We may have transport for her on Wednesday so we really need a foster.

Foster update- Leia

Leia came into rescue after she was surrendered to a high kill shelter. She is 6 years old and was used for breeding and then discarded. She has been spayed and has made great progress so far :-) here’s a note from her foster

We’ve had Leia for 2 weeks now!

She’s a super sweet girl who does excellent with my 2 and 4 year old.

She’s still a counter surfer but not as bad as she was when we first got her.

She walks so well on a leash, hardly pulls, and we’ve lightly jogged and she can stay on pace next to me. However, if you are a squirrel- best of luck, she will drag you to inspect it.

She’s working on her manners and will sit for a treat, will sit for her meal, and mostly goes potty outside (few accidents). She’s a treat snatcher so watch out for your fingers!

She loves her people and protecting the yard.

I haven’t exposed her to other dogs as she hasn’t been feeling well but I heard from the shelter she did not react to other dogs.

I’m not sure if she has separation anxiety and or destroys bc when we’ve left for a few hours, we put her in the crate. She howled for about a minute then she settled.

She’s going to make someone so happy!

Clyde has been in board and train and will need to move by June 20th. We would love to find him an adopter by then.

He’s an awesome boy. He just has a TON of energy. It takes him awhile to settle down and when he is excited he is very mouthy. He doesn’t bite down at all but doesn’t have that boundary yet to not use his mouth to greet. He has been ok with cats. When he was introduced to a female weim he went after her but did not bite. Since he lived with a dog in foster care we think he might have been over stimulated. Even so, right now we are looking for a home where he can be an only dog.

He doesn’t jump or get on furniture and goes great in his crate and now walks nice on leash. So many good things but he needs the right adopter. He will need a firm leader and someone that won’t get exasperated with his energy and willing to help him burn it.

Chase and Hank had multiple volunteers spend time with them today.

Chase has come a long way since coming into rescue. He is learning sit and will sit for treats. His leash walking has gotten better and he knows the heel command though he has to be reminded to stay in a heel. He is very friendly and still likes to jump up. He’s working on those manners too.

Hank is still trying to figure things out. He is learning sit and leash manners. He is very interested in exploring. He is getting along with Chase but too many dogs overwhelm him.
Both boys are available for foster or adoption

Susie is a sweet, lovable girl who has learned what it means to feel safe, loved, & part of a family. She’s the kind of dog who quickly wins you over—once she trusts you, she’s incredibly loyal, affectionate, & happiest just being near her people.

Personality:
Susie is gentle at heart with a very playful, curious side that comes out more each day. She can be a little shy at first in new environments or with new people, but she warms up beautifully with patience & kindness. Once she feels comfortable, you’ll see her affectionate, goofy personality shine through.
She is eager to please her family and very food driven!
She is crate trained, not agressive, plays well with other dogs, a super chewer! 😅 but only with her toys, not scared of vacuums, and will absolutely let you know when she wants pets & kisses. :)

Ideal Home:
Susie would do best in a quiet household or a chaotic one, in either she will thrive. She’d love a family that understands she’s still learning and is willing to celebrate her progress, no matter how small. She is a very quick learner but also hardheaded. Susie lovesssss to run at full speed so a home with a secure yard would be a bonus.

Other Dogs:
With proper introductions, Susie from the get-go has done so well with other dogs. She absolutely adores her foster sister.
I’m sure she would also do well as your one-and-only but be prepared for her to be constantly asking for attention. 😅

Still Working On:
Susie is still working on counter surfing & digging thru trash.
When it’s feeding time, she will try her best to be calm & sit but sometimes can’t wait. And once she’s done, she will take her bowl and lick it until every food particle is gone lol.
She knows the words “no” and “leave it” but it has been up to her if she wants to listen. 😆
Leash walking, she still pulls but knows “stop pulling.”
Depending if she’s been active, if she is left alone, she will usually nap or start digging thru anything she can chew on.
She’s been really good about grabbing her deer antler from her toy box or her Super Chewer toys. We usually kennel her if we are leaving for longer than 2 hours.

Bruno is ready for his new home! He came to rescue after his owner died and he ended up at a shelter.
Bruno is an easy addition to any household. He's friendly to all people, has made friends with other dogs, loves his toys and bones, and adores his person. He also has a history of being around children. He was owned by a man, but has quickly bonded to the woman who is fostering him. While he gets along with other dogs, he prefers to be with his person. Loves going on car rides and hikes, and loves snuggling on the couch (or in bed), knows a few basic commands and is potty trained. While he follows his foster mom around the house, he doesn't display any signs of anxiety when left alone and comfortably rests in his crate. He has been left loose in the house for short periods without any issues. Foster hasn't tried longer periods loose, so not sure about it but he seems pretty relaxed when left. He has been through a pretty loud thunderstorm with with no reaction.

He came in with some skin issues, having had fleas that caused him to chew and scratch. But fleas are gone and skin is quickly resolving. It's possible he has mild allergies. He seemed to react to salmon based food, but on chicken based diet, he appears fine. His ears have been healthy and he doesn't chew/lick his paws like you would think of an allergy dog.

In short, Bruno is a dream dog and definitely deserving of a forever home.
