Did you know we have a podcast? 🎧

Exchange Place is a limited-series podcast that follows the story of four brave women navigating desegregation in a harrowing time.

Our podcast recounts the opening The Adult Education Center back in 1965, when the Deep South struggled against racism to integrate secretarial offices. Detailing the ways they overcame obstacles, these women tell a powerful tale that will stick with any listener for years to come.

You can listen wherever you get your podcasts. 🦒🩵

Looking back on some beautiful memories from earlier this month at our 431 Exchange Soirée! ✨ We had such an incredible time gathering at to celebrate with everyone after a day of filming and reconnecting. It was truly a special evening shared with graduates of the original Adult Education Center, our inspiring scholarship recipients, and our dedicated community and team members.

A very special thank you to New Orleans City Council President for stopping by to show his support and celebrate with us!

Events like this remind us of the power of our multigenerational community. From the trailblazing women of 1965 who broke barriers in the workplace, to our current scholars who are turning their education into incredible impact today, we are so proud of the legacy we continue to build together here in New Orleans.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to support the 431 Exchange! 🩵🦒

Raphael Morgan is a graduate from the Adult Education Center who later went on to become a teacher with a degree from UNO. Morgan says her time at Exchange Place prepped her for success when pursuing new opportunities.

We are proud to carry on the legacy of the school who gave Raphael the foundation she needed to ultimately become a resource of knowledge for others. Thank you again to Thanh Truong for sharing the story of The 431 Exchange! 🦒🩵

We are so proud to honor Sister Judith Therese Barial for her incredible career in education. A member of the Sisters of the Holy Family, Sister Judith is a beloved educator at St. Mary’s Academy in New Orleans—one of the oldest Black Catholic schools in the United States.

A graduate of St. Mary’s, she has devoted more than six decades to teaching mathematics and science while mentoring generations of students in both scholarship and faith. Her impact extends beyond New Orleans: she founded Delille Academy in Dangriga, Belize, helping establish it as an accredited Catholic high school serving hundreds of students.

Sister Judith’s life reflects a commitment to educating the whole person—intellectually, spiritually, and morally—and she continues to inspire students with the same dedication that has shaped thousands of lives.
