CARE Dallas Launches Free Prevention & Empowerment Program for Students Across The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex
DALLAS, TX — CARE Dallas is proud to announce the launch of its new Prevention & Empowerment Program, a free educational initiative designed to equip students across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex with the tools they need to make healthy decisions, build resilience, and navigate today’s challenges with confidence.
The program focuses on substance abuse prevention, mental health awareness, peer pressure resistance, bullying prevention, emotional wellness, leadership development, and healthy decision-making skills for students of all ages.
For 42 years, CARE Dallas has served the community through awareness, education, and resources surrounding substance abuse and life-controlling issues. This new initiative represents the organization’s continued commitment to investing directly in the lives of young people and ensuring prevention education remains accessible for generations to come.
“The challenges facing students today are constantly evolving,” said Clint Carlton, Executive Director of CARE Dallas. “Our goal is not simply to tell students what to avoid, it is to empower them with the confidence, emotional tools, and support systems needed to make positive choices for themselves, their families, and their futures. By offering this program free of charge, we are removing barriers and ensuring more students have access to critical education and support.”
The CARE Dallas Prevention & Empowerment Program utilizes interactive discussions, real-life scenarios, age-appropriate curriculum, and engaging activities to help students develop practical life skills in a supportive environment.
CARE Dallas also announced that the official rollout of the program will begin in January 2027. The initiative will include both traditional paperback workbooks and a fully interactive online learning platform designed to meet students and families where they are.
Students participating in the program will have the ability to complete the curriculum through an 8-week or 8-session format. Upon successful completion of the coursework and final testing components, students will receive a Certificate of Completion recognizing their participation and understanding of the program material.
In addition to classroom and group learning opportunities, CARE Dallas is introducing a family-focused option that allows parents and guardians to complete the program alongside their children from home and at their own pace.
The organization says this feature was intentionally designed to strengthen communication within families while giving parents direct access to prevention tools, educational conversations, and trusted resources they can use long after the program is completed.
“At CARE Dallas, we believe prevention starts with conversation, connection, and education at home,” Carlton said. “We want parents to feel equipped, informed, and supported. By creating a family-paced option, we are making sure parents have access to meaningful resources and opportunities to grow and learn alongside their children.”
