+ has grown something amazing…. It’s Mardi Gras BEADS 🤩
Instead of plastic beads polluting the environment, these will break down in as little as one week to as long as 1-2 years if they are thrown by the wayside, as many beads end up being done.
Dr. Naohiro Kato used microalgae, a students mistake leaving algae out overnight, and his friend’s question of whether Mardi Gras beads could be made sustainably to come up with this solution, and I absolutely love the innovation!
I had BIG PLANS to celebrate and teach the kids about Mardi Gras but they are fighting a bug. We’ll be ready as soon as they are better with these lightweight beads and some learning resources.
Did y’all celebrate Mardi Gras today?
