You may never know how much your presence matters to a kid.
Jason probably doesn’t remember the basketball games.
Fred probably wondered if that awkward dinner and movie night made any difference.
Aaron probably wasn’t thinking about how one invitation could shape the trajectory of my life.
But I remember.
Looking back, I can see what I couldn’t see then: God was using ordinary men who were simply willing to show up.
That’s the encouragement for every youth leader, mentor, coach, parent, and volunteer: Stop carrying the pressure to produce the fruit.
Your job is to be faithful.
Be with Jesus. Show up. Do what He asks. Be like Jesus.
Plant the seed. Water it. Love the kid in front of you.
God is the one who makes it grow. You may think it’s just another day.
It might be the day a kid remembers for the rest of their life.
