Juneteenth is not just a celebration, it is a call to conscience. โœŠ๐Ÿฝ

On this day in 1865, freedom finally reached those who had been denied it the longest. And yet, the truth remainsโ€ฆfreedom delayed was not full freedom, and the promise of justice is still unfinished.

As voting rights are challenged ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ, Black history is erased from classrooms ๐Ÿ“š, and equity efforts are silenced, Juneteenth reminds us that freedom is not something we simply remember. It is something we must protect, defend, and carry forward.

Juneteenth is a powerful reminder that equality delayed is equality denied. โณโš–๏ธ

Weโ€™re living in a time where truth is under attack and justice is still unequal. But we are also living in a time of resilience, where voices rise ๐Ÿ“ฃ, communities organize, and young people lead with courage, clarity, and vision. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ

As Opal Lee, the Grandmother of Juneteenth, reminds us:

โ€œNone of us are free until weโ€™re all free, and we arenโ€™t free yet.โ€

So today, we honor Juneteenth not only in memory, but in movement. Because until we are all free, none of us truly are. ๐Ÿ–คโค๏ธ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š

๐ŸŒˆ Supporting LGBTQIA+ youth starts with something powerfulโ€ฆ and that is LOVE!

Swipe through for practical ways parents and caregivers can help young people feel safe, seen, loved, and supported. โค๏ธ

โœจ Lead with acceptance.
โœจ Keep the conversation open.
โœจ Listen without judgment.
โœจ Create a safe space where your child knows they can always come to you.
โœจ Help them thrive by connecting them with trusted support and resources.

At CMSF, we believe every child deserves to feel valued, respected, and celebrated for exactly who they are.๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿฝ

๐ŸŒˆ Because acceptance does more than create a sense of belonging, it can change a childโ€™s life.

๐Ÿ’› When young people are loved for who they are, they gain the courage to become who theyโ€™re meant to beโ€ฆ

๐ŸŽคโœจ โ€œWhat was your favorite question from Ask Auntie?โ€ โœจ๐ŸŽค

For our final Irving Ask Auntie! Teen Circle before summer, we handed the mic ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ to our teens and let them share the questions that sparked the biggest conversations! ๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿ’ฌ

Our topic, โ€œWhat Nobody Tells You About Growing Up,โ€ opened the door to honest discussions about friendships, family expectations, identity, pressure, independence, and everything in betweenโ€ฆ โค๏ธ it was goooood!

One thing we learned? Yepโ€ฆ nobody has it all figured outโ€ฆ and thatโ€™s alright. ๐Ÿ˜Š

A huge THANK YOU ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ to our amazing facilitator, Radha Patel ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿฝ, for creating a space where teens felt comfortable being real, vulnerable, and heard. ๐ŸŒŸ

๐ŸŽฅ Special thanks to Drecom Art for putting together this fun reel and to Piyush Chintalwar, Founder of Pumped Up Cooking for the fantastic idea! ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿฉท Hey SAATHI: โ€œWhat Will People Say?โ€ The Invisible Pressure Running Our Livesโ€ฆ ๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿ’›

This past Sunday, we gathered for our final Coppell Hey SAATHI! Circle before our summer break, and the conversation was powerful! ๐Ÿคฉโœจ

Standing beneath a sign that read โ€œFriends,โ€ we were reminded of the true meaning of SAATHIโ€ฆ friend, companion, someone who walks beside you. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿค๐ŸŒธ

Together, we explored the invisible pressures many of us carry: cultural expectations, family dynamics, identity, belonging, and the familiar question:

๐Ÿ’ญ โ€œWhat will people say?โ€

Beautifully facilitated by Gauri Rao Sharma, the discussion created space for honest reflection, meaningful dialogue, and shared understanding. โค๏ธโœจ

The stories shared were thoughtful, vulnerable, and deeply meaningful. In a world that often encourages us to fit in, our circle offered something differentโ€ฆ a space to be heard, understood, and supported without judgment. ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿซถ

Thank you ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ to everyone who joined us this season in Coppell. Your openness, wisdom, and willingness to connect helped transform conversations into community. ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŒŸ

As we pause for the summer, weโ€™re grateful for every story shared, every perspective offered, and every connection made. โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒป

Weโ€™ll see you again in September ๐Ÿ“…! Until then, may we all remember that the most important question isnโ€™t:

๐Ÿ’ญ โ€œWhat Will People Say?โ€

But rather:

โœจ โ€œWhat feels true to me?โ€ โœจ๐Ÿ’›

Pride Month gives us an opportunity to celebrate, uplift voices, honor lived experiences, and recognize the progress that has been made. But the values it represents love, acceptance, kindness, respect, and belonging should never be limited to a single month on the calendar.

Every person deserves to be seen, valued, heard, and accepted for who they are.

As we raise the next generation, let us teach our children that kindness has no conditions, respect has no exceptions, and every human being deserves dignity. ๐Ÿ’›โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿฉท๐Ÿค๐ŸคŽ๐Ÿฉถ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿงก

๐Ÿ“šโœจ CMSF's May Book Picks are here! Happy reading to all our little bookworms! ๐Ÿ›๐Ÿ“–

Since May is Mental Health Awareness Month, we chose four thoughtful childrenโ€™s books that can help open gentle conversations about big feelings, worries, belonging, and emotional well-being. ๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŒˆ

Reading together creates space for connection, comfort, and reassurance, reminding children that their feelings matter and that they are never alone. ๐Ÿ“–โœจ

๐Ÿ“– Leave Me Alone! A Good Inside Story About Deeply Feeling Kids by Dr. Becky Kennedy & illustrated by Joanie Stone: Pia is a deeply feeling child whose big emotions can become overwhelming, causing her to lash out and push others away. Through safety, patience, and connection, her mom helps her move through those feelings with compassion. ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒˆ

๐Ÿ“– My Monster and Me by Nadiya Hussain & illustrated by Ella Bailey,
A reassuring story about a child whose worries begin to feel like a monster following him everywhere. With support and honesty, he learns that sharing our worries can help us feel less alone. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ‘พ

๐Ÿ“– Home Is a Wish by Julia Kuo,
A tender, beautifully illustrated story about leaving home, navigating change, and holding onto hope while searching for belonging. A heartfelt reminder that home can live in memory, love, and the people who help us feel safe. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿก

๐Ÿ“– Ruby Finds a Worry by Tom Percival
Rubyโ€™s worry begins as a small โ€œblobโ€ that follows her everywhere and grows bigger the longer she keeps it inside. When she meets another child with a worry of his own, Ruby discovers that talking about feelings can help worries feel smaller and less scary. ๐Ÿ’šโœจ

โœจ Because when we help children name, understand, and share their feelings, we nurture emotional safety, connection, and the whole child. Mental health conversations can begin with one small story and one SAFE moment together. ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿ“š
