💙 AURORA’S JOURNEY HOME 🐾
Sometimes, a foster story is about so much more than a dog needing a temporary place to stay.
For lee, it started with one photo of Aurora. One look at her eyes, and her heart was stolen.
As a first-time foster, Seongyeon quickly learned that fostering comes with its share of chaos. Aurora locked her out of the house, serenaded the neighborhood with her 8-to-5 howling, and even became seriously ill after a difficult daycare stay.
There were late nights, ER visits, worry, and plenty of learning along the way.
But through it all, Aurora became family.
For Aurora’s dad, having her safely cared for meant he could focus on the most important thing: his recovery.
When Aurora’s dad found a treatment center in Colorado that would allow Aurora to stay with him, everything fell into place. ❤️
Seongyeon then made the incredible journey from Dallas to Colorado to reunite Aurora with her dad personally. 🥹🐾
The reunion came with a bittersweet goodbye.
Seongyeon shared: “Fostering broke my heart open in the best way possible, and Aurora’s memory crumbs will stay with me forever.”
We are incredibly grateful to Seongyeon for opening her home and her heart, and ultimately for making the journey to Colorado so Aurora could be reunited with the person she loves most.
And we’re grateful to everyone who helped make this journey possible, from the Dallas Pets Alive team and medical teams to this incredible community.
This is what Dogs Matter is all about: giving people the opportunity to focus on recovery without having to give up the pets they love and creating a safe bridge between treatment and the day they can come home together. 💙
Aurora got her happy ending. Her dad got to focus on his recovery. And one incredible foster helped make their reunion possible.
That’s the power of a foster. 🐾
