💙 What an incredible and inspiring weekend!

On Saturday, June 20, 2026; Holiday Cheer for Seniors partnered with Fair Oaks of Denton to host a Volunteer Appreciation Celebration honoring the amazing individuals who generously give their time and talents to serve others in our community.

A heartfelt thank you to our event sponsors, Ruiz Foods and Modern Woodmen of America, for helping make this special day possible. We are especially grateful to Modern Woodmen for supporting our Hometown Heroes recognition, sponsoring refreshments, and providing a generous $1,000 matching donation for our silent auction fundraiser. Proceeds from the auction will benefit Holiday Cheer for Seniors and Denton Freedom House, helping support seniors and neighbors in need.

We were honored to welcome Denton Mayor Gerard Hudspeth, who shared remarks about the importance of volunteerism and the value of our senior population. Dr. James Duban spoke about the impact of service and intergenerational connections. Gabrielle Beebe presented the Community Hometown Hero Awards, and Maria Jones highlighted the important work being done to provide food assistance to local seniors.

I Saieh Harris was truly honored and humbled to be recognized as one of this year's Hometown Heroes. This recognition reflects the collective efforts of our volunteers, donors, board members, and community partners who work together to bring joy, hope, and support to seniors throughout the year.

The day was filled with gratitude, encouragement, and meaningful connections. Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, sponsored, and supported this event. Together, we are building a stronger community and making a lasting difference in the lives of seniors.

‼️Support Needed for Seniors in low-income communities‼️

Hello,

This Father’s Day, we are hoping to bless 20 senior men in our community with love, encouragement, and thoughtful gifts.

Many seniors may not receive a visit, card, or gift this year. Our goal is to remind them they are valued, remembered, and appreciated.

For just $15, you can help sponsor a gift bag for a senior man. You can also purchase items directly from our Amazon Wishlist or share this opportunity with others.

With gratitude,
