Planning your summer vacation? Consider Tulsa.

Once an oil boomtown, Tulsa is experiencing another kind of resurgence.

A new wave of transplants is being drawn in by the city’s affordability, slower pace and open spaces. They are collaborating with longtime locals to turn the central neighborhoods of this sprawling city into an unlikely hub for art, culture and gastronomy.

Here's a guide to Route 66’s centennial celebration, art deco architectural tours, “The Outsiders” themed museum and farm-fresh meals.

CCNT partnered with Cherokee Nation and Cherokee Gadugi to host the combined At-Large Meeting for North Texas on Saturday, May 2 at Coppell High School. We heard updates from Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr., Cherokee Nation Deputy Principal Chief Bryan Warner, Canaan Duncan, Johnny Jack Kidwell, Cherokee Nation Council Member, and Julia Coates Cherokee At-Large Tribal Council Representative.

We enjoyed a delicious hog fry and various cultural presentations. We exceeded our goal for new CCNT membership applications with 35+ being submitted. We were grateful to the volunteers who showed up early and stayed late to help with setup and take down, food service, and to assist at our tables. Special thanks go to Michelle Perry, Mellanie Cain, Gary Foster, and Richard Brough for capturing the event in photos as well as Mary Batchelor and Jessica Yma who also worked the tables.
