Embody Love Movement

Embody Love Movement Embody Love Movement's mission is to resource everyone to reclaim beauty on their own terms.

Embody Love Movement was born out of the inspiration from a group of a few young women who, together, found a passion for inspiring and empowering other girls and women to recognize their value and their potential.

Thank you to everyone who was a part of this movement to resource everyone to define beauty on their terms. As of 2022, our organization is closed. We've stopped providing programming and are hopeful that you will turn your attention and learning to those who are most pivotal in the body liberation movement. This is by no means a complete list, but we've learned a lot from ASDAH, Sonya Renee Taylor, and Alok Vaid-Menon, and know that you will, too.

We are grateful to our volunteers, donors, facilitators, collaborators, board members, and co-conspirators. Every single one of us is required to create a world where all bodies are free-- where everyone is uplifted, celebrated, resourced, and valued. For the ways in which we have been able to move you toward liberation, we are deeply and forever grateful. In recognition of all of our efforts, our mistakes, our generosity, our labor, our learning, we are grateful. Thank you for allowing us to exist for 12 years and for being a part, big and small, of our collective impact.
With deep love and sincere gratitude, Dr. Melody Moore co-founder.

We here at Elephant, and many of you—the majority of us—are pro-abortion rights.

Against abortion? Then support fostering, safe s*x ed., and free contraception. That, not making it illegal, or abstinence, works. Making it illegal only makes it more dangerous.

Pro-life? Support the lives of women. Yes, babies, and fetuses matter, but let’s start with the would-be mother. They’re already here, and we must think about them, first.

Not satisfied? Fetuses are people too? Then support them after birth, again, have you fostered? Do you support public education, health care for all?

Giving access to free and low-cost birth control saves the U.S. Government (and, you know, taxpayers) at least $17 billion a year…and it results in fewer abortions. And that’s not to mention offering basic s*x education.

“I accept my church’s position on abortion, but I refuse to impose it on others.” ~ Joe Biden

Y’all know I don’t play about this topic. Even if you may not be physically where you want to me, attacking your vessel because the seasons are changing isn’t kind to you. It’s not fair, boo!

It’s easier said than done. Body positivity isn’t automatic for someone who has been told their body doesn’t deserve praise.

Here’s the little thing I try to say to my body once a day:

“thank you.”

Not even during the big moments. Just a quiet thank you while I’m walking. Or when I’m brushing my teeth. Or right before I eat a meal. Just those two words are a quiet love letter to myself and a declaration.

If praise feels strange, it’s okay! You have a lot of time in your body - all the time, actually! - to get this right. 🌱

Posted • Everyone wants to be seen. Not for the surface stuff, but for who they really are. Giving a compliment that goes deeper than how someone looks, to how they walk through life, can stay with a person much longer, and be way more meaningful.

CHALLENGE: Next time you want to compliment someone (your child, coworker, or the barista at your favorite cafe) include a non-physical compliment and notice the reaction. You are connecting in a deeper way, and these few words can actually have a bigger impact than you may realize on someone’s life.

Drop a ✨✨ if this sounds good to you.

We are a small but mighty group of ELM campers this week at St John’s summer Camp. These girls have already shared, bern brave, and settled their minds and hearts. Can’t wait for tomorrow!
