North Texas school districts are seeing an increase in student homelessness. Plano ISD reported 1,365 students experiencing homelessness last school year, and Richardson ISD saw 2,464.

These young people face challenges that impact every part of their lives, from their education to their well-being. At TRAC, we’re here to bridge the gap and help youth ages 16–24 transition out of homelessness toward independence and stability.

Let’s work together to raise awareness for National Homeless Youth Awareness Month. Every bit of support counts in making a difference!

In the 2020-2021 school year, over 93,000 Texas students were identified as homeless, with nearly 15% unaccompanied by a parent or guardian. For many of these young people, housing instability brings unique challenges that impact their ability to focus on education, access essential services, and prepare for a successful adulthood.

TRAC is committed to addressing these barriers. This November, in recognition of National Homeless Youth Awareness Month, we invite you to join us in supporting young people ages 16–24 in North Texas who are transitioning out of foster or juvenile care. Together, we can create pathways to self-sufficiency and bring lasting change to the lives of our most vulnerable youth.

At TRAC, we’re passionate about creating pathways to stability for North Texas youth ages 16–24 who are transitioning from foster or juvenile care and facing homelessness. This month, we’ll be sharing stories and facts to spread awareness on the impact of youth homelessness. Join us in our mission to empower and uplift these resilient young people toward self-sufficiency. Every bit of awareness counts!
