Our Pharmacy Assistant students recently put their classroom knowledge into practice by supporting International Esperanza Project®️’s Impacting Health pillar.
Students helped organize, classify, and inventory medications while strengthening important skills for their future careers in healthcare.
It is a great example of how our pillars come together: students learning through real experiences while supporting the health services provided to communities across Guatemala.
This is education in action: learning, serving, and preparing for the future, all at the same time.

Some moments change a life.

For Jonnathan, those moments happen inside the homes of the families he serves through IEP’s Impacting Homes program.

For more than a year, he has worked alongside families and volunteer teams, installing smoke-free stoves, translating, teaching, and building relationships along the way.
One moment from a recent team stayed with him. After installing a stove, the volunteers learned that the family had very little food left. They chose to leave their own lunches behind for the family.

“These are the trips that change your life.”

For Jonnathan, the work is about more than installing a stove. It is about showing up, listening, and sharing moments that stay with everyone involved.

Before beginning their work through our Impacting Homes pillar, Team Honor had the opportunity to experience another side of International Esperanza Project®.

The team visited El Molino School, where they spent time with students, sharing smiles, conversations, and meaningful moments together. They also toured the Esperanza Center, where they experienced our vocational training programs firsthand by enjoying manicures provided by beauty course students and learning to make delicious cinnamon rolls.

It was a wonderful day of learning, connection, and celebrating the skills and opportunities that are helping build brighter futures.

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
This week, our Early Childhood Center in Tecpán welcomed educators from International Esperanza Project, Fundación Ralda, and Fundación PAVA for four days of Montessori training.
Together, they explored practical strategies to foster independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning, strengthening the foundation for the children and families they serve every day.
By investing in educators, we are investing in the future of every child who walks through our classrooms.

As Team Heart's time in Guatemala comes to an end, we are celebrating the incredible impact made together.

This week, 85 families received a smoke free stove and a water filter, creating healthier homes for generations to come.
535 patients received compassionate medical care through our clinics.
49 patients experienced life changing surgeries that restored health, renewed hope, and opened the door to a brighter future.

Behind every number is a person, a family, and a life touched by compassionate care.
To every volunteer, donor, partner, and supporter, thank you for making this possible. Your compassion reached communities where access to healthcare and safe homes can change everything.

Together, we are bringing care where it is needed the most and strengthening communities from the inside, out.
