DART Public Meeting on March 11 at 6:30-7 pm. If you, or your children, ride the 216 bus, please DM your thoughts and contact information. Or if you would just like more information about riding the bus. This meeting revolves around a proposed hub for the routes 15, 18 and 224 and also would connect 216 with Bus number 15.

The Skyline Library enhances quality of life in Buckner Terrace. And it is on the City of Dallas’ chopping block. Did you know this is the only library in the city with a fireplace? Two, actually. It’s a fun, quirky building that provides not just books, other media and computer access but also a public space for classes, meetings, and voting.

Come and enjoy this cool neighborhood asset on February 18 at 5 for a jazz concert and you can vote too. And, consider taking a few minutes to complete this survey.

Some great information for an unusual event in Texas. Also, let the kids participate in preparation. Do they know where flashlights are? Batteries? Are things charged? Where are their warmest clothes? Do they need extra blankets? What will they do for entertainment if you lose heat and/or power? What do they wish to eat that can be eaten without heating up?

Looks like the Skyline Library is on the chopping block. It’s been such an asset to the Buckner Terrace neighborhood- despite the deferred maintenance and the hasty transfer of every really great librarian. This summer it took over 4 months for the City of Dallas to install new bathrooms that were years overdue. This Interrupted an existing summer child care program and had porta potties and hand sanitizing stations In the parking lot In the heat of summer.

Four neighborhood libraries in Dallas are being proposed for closure, and the historic J. Erik Jonsson Central Library is in for a “reimagining.”
