Flower Mound New Century Lions Club

Our club was honored to induct a new member and my dentist Saumya Sehgal!

Lions International is the largest membership-based service club organization in the world, with approximately 1.4 million members across more than 49,000 clubs in over 200 countries and geographic areas.

During the induction ceremony, I always repeat these statistics about Lions International and it reminds me that we are in good company with service-minded individuals.

Welcome Dr. Sehgal!

Lions Club members are rooted in service. Most of us volunteer for multiple organizations and have multiple service interests. Here are two members who volunteered earlier at the Keep Flower Mound Beautiful Clean-up event and then later manned a booth for Flower Mound Animal Services to promote the new Screech Owl Box project!

Our club had the most phenomenal meeting last night at Ranch Hand Rescue. We were there to present a donation of $3000 from the proceeds of our Sock Hop fundraiser.
Our club had the great honor of meeting the founder and CEO Bob Williams. We were treated to a private session with Mr. Williams sharing his story of creating the farm-animal sanctuary and his journey in founding Bob’s House of Hope to support and heal young male victims of s*x trafficking. His years of work to address the issue of s*x trafficking in DFW is awe-inspiring.

Today was an exceptional day to be a Lion. Due to the hard work of our Sock Hop committee, our club was able to make a donation of $3,000 to the Canine Companions non-profit organization. We were given a tour of their impressive facilities and watched some of their puppy training class. https://canine.org/location/south-central
