Last night, we had 2-E2 Vice-District Govenor Sean Bryan visit our club. We had a rare treat to have Lion Bryan induct two new members to our club! Congratulations and thank you to our sponsors for mentoring two new members!

I can not adequately express what a fantastic time we had at our club’s Sock Hop fundraiser this past Friday. We had Elvis in the building (Nick Mischissin), great 50’s music (DJ David Hodges), incredible line dancing, delicious diner food including milkshakes by the fabulous Carnival Catering, a hula hoop contest, a silent auction, and we even crowned a King and Queen of the dance. Thanks to Eli Howard and “In the Moment” for bringing us into the future with the super fun 360 Photo Booth!!

The Flower Mound New Century Lions Club is incredibly proud to announce that our member Jacque Narrell was awarded the prestigious Flower Mound’s 2025 Outstanding Citizenship Award!

Jacque is a very active member of our Lions Club and served as the Chair of our wildly successful 2024 Lions Gala committee. She is also chair of the Town’s Historical Commission and has brought history to life and injected energy into enriching the lives of our community through a variety of ways. Her outreach spans both the young and the young at heart. Whether volunteering with the New Century Lions Club to ensure better sight for others or on the Historical Commissions for Denton County and Flower Mound, she does it all with compassion and dedication. Well deserved, Jacque!

On Monday, Flower Mound Town Council recognized the recipients of Flower Mound’s 2025 Outstanding Youth Citizenship Award. 🏆❤️ The award is designed to recognize an outstanding Youth that demonstrates exemplary service to our community.

The Flower Mound New Century Lions Club is incredibly proud to announce the winner of the youth category is our own Vyom Sharma! A senior at Flower Mound high School, Vyom is involved in our Lion Club’s Bags to Benches program, which sees plastic bags recycled to create park benches. Every weekday, he picks up the plastic bags dropped off at the Flower Mound Public Library for recycling and takes them to the company that recycles them. He’s also a regular volunteer at the bi-annual trash-off events hosted by Keep Flower Mound Beautiful. Not just a community servant, Vyom’s interests, including presenting his research on environmental oncology and molecular biology at various conferences and competing on Flower Mound High School’s award-winning Robotics Team since 2022, point to a future of exceptional academic and professional impact. Congratulations, Vyom!

Our club secretary Julie Hutchens awarded the traveling Outstanding Citizen trophy to member Judy Collins last night in recognition of her contributions to our club by engaging her large community of friends and working hard to make our yearly fundraisers a success! Judy is a huge asset to our club and community.
