Youth With Faces

Youth With Faces With respect and belief in their potential, we help justice-impacted youth gain work and life skills. We all know poor choices are part of growing up.

Unfortunately, for incarcerated youth, the poverty and dysfunction that led to their mistakes create a cycle of crime and incarceration difficult for any teen to overcome alone. Youth With Faces, formerly known as Youth Village Resources, is a North Texas nonprofit organization that gives young men and women in the juvenile justice system a second chance at being more than a statistic. We are ther

e with accountability, respect and a belief in their potential – even before they believe it themselves. They build character, learn essential life and employment skills, and put them into practice. As a result, they break the cycle of incarceration and create a new identity as a capable young person with something positive to contribute.

We’re excited to share how the American Eagle Better World Foundation’s May Month of Service grant program is making a difference for justice-impacted youth in North Texas! Thanks to a dedicated group of AEO leaders, Youth With Faces received vital support for our Career Readiness programs—and a hands-on boost to our spaces.

During May Give Back Days, the AE team rolled up their sleeves to clean and organize our office and classrooms, creating a welcoming environment for our students. They capped off the day by leading mock interviews, helping our youth build confidence and real-world skills for their next steps.

We’re deeply grateful for the time, energy, and encouragement these volunteers poured into our mission. Their commitment is helping us build brighter futures, one student at a time. Thank you, American Eagle and the Better World Foundation, for believing in the potential of our youth!

This week we hosted a special graduation for one of our incredible students.

With hard work and determination, he passed his GED exam with flying colors! While we’re unable to share his photo, please know he was at the center of this celebration—surrounded by a community cheering him on every step of the way.

At Medlock, this young man stood out as a leader in both our Culinary Arts and Career Readiness programs. His dedication and growth made a lasting impact on everyone around him. We’re deeply grateful to our partners for working with us to support his journey.

Thanks to special plans made by Reentry Program Manager Kristin, his big day was filled with joy—from the graduation music playing as he walked the room to the standing ovations that followed. It’s a moment we won’t forget, and neither will he.

As he reintegrates into the community this week, join us in congratulating this remarkable young man on a well-earned achievement and a bright future ahead!

Our students are building real-world skills that prepare them for what’s next. Through our Career Readiness program, students learn to:

- Explore career paths by understanding job responsibilities, average pay, and experience
- Build strong resumes highlighting their skills, experience, and achievements
- Navigate job applications and interviews with confidence
- Understand workplace expectations like teamwork, professionalism, and responsibility
- Ask the right questions to know if the job is a good fit for them

By the end of the program, students demonstrate a clear understanding of what it takes to succeed, from the job interview to navigating the work place! Get involved to support their journey: youthwithfaces.org/get-involved/volunteer
