The Commemorative Air Force P-40 Sponsor Group's Curtiss P-40N Warhawk started its life as P-40N-1-CU U.S. Army Air Corps Serial Number 42-105867. On the 17th of September, 1943, the aircraft was sold to the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) in Alaska and was subsequently designated Kittyhawk Mk. IV #867 and served with RCAF No. 111 (F) and No. 135 (F) Squadrons until she was sold surplus in 1947. The Confederate Air Force, now the Commemorative Air Force, obtained the aircraft in 1965 and has since been a regular attraction at airshows across the United States. Currently, the CAF P-40 wears the markings of legend fighter ace Brig. David Lee "Tex" Hill of the famous American Volunteer Group (AVG), better known as the "Flying Tigers." The CAF P-40 is available for static displays, fly-bys, aerobatic routines and as a part of the iconic TORA!
