Vincent de Paul North Texas (SVdP) is a Catholic nonprofit organization that provides temporary food, financial and material assistance to those in need. SVdP also offers several systemic change programs, which are tailored to empower neighbors to address root causes to their crises and reach long-term stability. The Society in North Texas currently coordinates 39 parish-based conferences, organiz

ing 900 volunteers. Known as “Vincentians,” these Society members directly provide person-to-person assistance while also enriching their own lives spiritually, serving in hope and loving their neighbor.

One of the most unique things about the Society of St. Vincent de Paul North Texas is the Home Visit.

Our volunteers meet neighbors where they are—often right in their homes—to listen, understand their situation, and provide personalized support. Sometimes that means help with rent, utilities, food, or medication. More importantly, it means treating every person with dignity and compassion. ❤️

A listening ear can be just as powerful as financial assistance.

This past Saturday, St. Vincent de Paul North Texas had the privilege of serving 7 families impacted by the recent Oak Cliff tragedy.

Working alongside the City of Dallas - City Hall, Mission Oak Cliff, and our dedicated Vincentian volunteers, we delivered essential household items through our national "House in a Box" program. Families received bedding, home furnishings, cookware, appliances, and other necessities to help them begin rebuilding their homes and restoring a sense of normalcy.

In addition, local Vincentians provided thrift store vouchers and gift cards to help meet immediate needs during this difficult time.

While we are grateful to have assisted 7 families so far, our work is not finished. We remain committed to supporting all 20 displaced families as they navigate the road ahead.

We are deeply thankful to every volunteer, donor, and partner who has stepped forward to make this possible. Your generosity is bringing hope, dignity, and comfort to families when they need it most.

Today, on Corpus Christi Sunday, we celebrate the profound mystery of the Eucharist: the bread and wine becoming the Precious Body and Blood of Christ, just as He declared at the Last Supper.

In receiving Him in the Blessed Sacrament, Christ dwells within us, and we are transformed into living tabernacles—called to carry His presence into the world and share His love with those we encounter.

May this profound truth rest deeply in your heart, overwhelm you with grace, and fill you with the courage to be a light for others by bringing Him to those in need. Through our words, actions, and witness, may others experience the love, mercy, and presence of Christ.

In the wake of last week’s Oak Cliff tragedy, St. Vincent de Paul North Texas has been engaged by the City of Dallas to assist the 20 families impacted and displaced.

Through our national House in a Box (HIB) program, families will receive essential household items including bedding, home furnishings, cookware, and appliances as they begin rebuilding their lives.

We are grateful to Mission Oak Cliff for stepping forward to help fund this effort, and to our local Vincentians who are providing thrift store vouchers and gift cards to support families during this difficult time.

Together, we can bring hope, dignity, and comfort when it is needed most.

God so loved the world. John 3:16. Probably the most famous Scripture verse in history, certainly the most visible in all sports. Ironic, as Christ won the ultimate battle by overcoming sin and the enemy and gaining Heaven for us, the greatest prize 🏆 we could ever hope for. This total love and abandonment of self reflects the mystery and wonder of the Holy Trinity, the personification of Love itself between Abba Father, Jesus Christ the Son of God, the Holy Spirit. He Who is Love invites us to share in Him and His very essence, which is love. (John 3:16-18)
