Our CEO Luis Gonzalez was invited to FOX 4 News show, The Post, on World Food Day to talk about the ways in which our conferences throughout the Catholic Diocese of Dallas help address food insecurity as experienced by our neighbors in need. So many of our neighbors need assistance with securing food on a regular basis and our 850+ Vincentians listen to their stories and offer tangible help in addition to empathetic listening and supportive encouragement. Yet even when you saw that, you did not later change your minds and believe him. Our insistence on our way being right, refusing to repent or change course on a decision, can lead us to ruin. It closes our heart to mercy and forgiveness which the Lord always makes available to us. It is mercy received that changes our hearts to enable mercy given. As St Vincent de Paul says - “Extend your mercy towards others, so that there can be no one in need whom you meet without helping. For what hope is there for us if God should withdraw His Mercy from us?” May he intercede on our behalf, today and always. (Matthew 21:28-32)

Reflection Sunday

You too go into my vineyard, and I will give you what is just. Abba Father, Creator of all, is merciful and just. It is He who pours out mercy, grace and compassion to all as gifts. He invites us to partner with Him, to join Him in the vineyard and work beside Him. Blessed are we! It brings us joy - not jealousy - to know His mercy extends to all and we pray that others might join us in the vineyard. Rejoice and be glad in His love and compassion. Pray for those you love who are far from knowing Him might come to know and follow Him and become fellow workers in His vineyard. (Matthew 20:1-16)
