CRVAC Friends and Supporters,
I wanted to pass on a few updates with the organization:
We are now officially a 501(c)3 federally recognized charity. We can now provide receipts for a tax deduction on any donations we receive.
The state of Texas has also recognized us as a non-profit, Service Charity. This also makes us Tax exempt in the state of Texas.
A donate button has been placed on the website. You can also pay for T-shirts using the donate button.
All of the bank accounts have been setup.
We spoke to Chick-Fil-A about hosting a fundraiser for us. Unfortunately, they are unable to host one for us but are willing to provide their food to us at a deep discount so that we can sell their products at events like the farmer's market.
Upcoming Events
Although construction seems to have been delayed a bit, we are working with the new Brass Tap on 380 to host an evening event for us shortly after they open.
The Town of Cross Roads is interested in partnering with us in developing a Veterans Memorial at the town park. We will be working with the Parks and Rec committee to work out all the details in the coming months.
We are still working to find a venue to host a monthly Breakfast.
If any of you have friends or family that are veterans or just supporters of veterans, please have them go to the website and signup - www.crveterans.org. If they prefer to use Facebook, we have a page there too - https://www.facebook.com/armyintel96b. Members do not have to be from Cross Roads to participate nor is it required they be veterans. They only need to be a supporter of veterans. It's free to be a member. There aren't any dues, as most of us have already paid our dues to the government by serving this country.
Unfortunately, raising funds as a new organization is difficult, but necessary to get off the ground. If anyone is still interested in purchasing a T-Shirt please don't hesitate to reach out. We still have several.
