With Father's Day being this Sunday, we want to recognize and honor the impact of fathers, father-figures, and male role models.
We asked the men on our staff this question:
“Who taught you how to be a Man of God?”
No story was exactly the same, but every story shared one common thread - someone showed up and showed them the way. These men didn’t have to figure it out on their own.
At Forerunner, we serve boys growing up without a father in the home. And we’ve seen the difference it makes when a Man of God chooses to step into a young boy's story and help shape who he becomes.
Right now, we have over 50 boys waiting to be matched with mentors who will show up twice a month, invest in their lives, and point them to Jesus.
We need fathers.
We need uncles and grandfathers.
Brothers and cousins.
Friends and neighbors.
Pastors and coaches.
We need mentors.
We need you.
The boy in our program waiting for a mentor doesn’t need you to be in a specific phase of life. He doesn’t need you to have a certain level of education or type of job. He doesn't need you to have prior experience or kids of your own. He just needs you to be willing to show up and share the love of Jesus.
