Partner Spotlight! 💡⭐️

The Notre Dame School of Dallas’ STAR Adult Program empowers adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to build fulfilling, independent lives beyond the classroom. Recently expanded to a larger space at East Dallas Christian Church, the program offers continuing education, job training, and life skills development for adults 22 and older. With capacity to serve up to 80 participants across North Texas, STAR fosters growth, community, and inclusion, helping graduates gain confidence, contribute to the workforce, and live with greater independence and purpose.
✨
The STAR program is literally a neighbor to Cooking for the Crowd and a lovely partnership is starting to bloom. The kitchen will provide these program participants with valuable life skills such as chopping, cleaning dishes, cooking and navigating a team environment while also serving others. It’s a heartwarming relationship that we hope fosters goodwill for years to come.

Because it means we’re one giant step closer to opening our new kitchen — a space where we’ll cook up 12,000+ meals a year for amazing nonprofits serving teen parents, refugees, trauma survivors, and more. 💪

These orgs do the healing — we make sure they don’t have to worry about what’s for dinner. 🍽️

📣 Pictures from the Cooking for the Crowd kitchen! 🍽️

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, earlier this summer we secured the opportunity to occupy a commercial kitchen located in the East Dallas Christian Church complex — near downtown Dallas! 🎉 This space has been underutilized, and now it’s a godsend: Cooking for the Crowd has taken it over so we can expand our operations this fall.
✨
What this means:
➡️We’ll be able to serve more organizations doing critical work in our city — social services, ESL classes, parenting support, legal aid, and more.
➡️Feed people who rely on us for a balanced, hot meal — for many, this might be one of the only ones they get.
➡️Thanks to the City of Dallas, we’re cleared and have all our permits. There are some repairs & upgrades needed in the coming year, but we’re basically ready to roll later this fall!
✨
🙏 We couldn’t have done this without your support, your prayers, and your belief in our mission: to take cooking off the plate of small nonprofits so they can lean into their purpose.
✨
