Howdy there!
Hope you're doing well. The recent year took unexpected turns and we're all aware that remaining isolated from a community can trouble the mind. Social media platforms have been one's best and worst friends during this time. Wouldn't you like to learn more about how it has affected you? Join us this weekend as we converse with Dr. Munmun De Choudhury and Dr. Devesh Ranjan as they reflect upon this subject.
Dr. Choudhury, Associate Professor at the School of Interactive Computing, Georgia Tech. is a researcher of Computational Social Science, with a focus on reasoning about personal and societal well-being from social digital footprints. Before moving to Georgia Tech in Spring 2014, she was a postdoctoral researcher in the neXus group at Microsoft Research, Redmond, between 2011 and 2013. Dr. De Choudhury is best known for laying the foundation of a line of research that develops computational techniques to responsibly and ethically employ social media in understanding and improving our mental health. To do this work, she adopts a highly interdisciplinary approach, combining social computing, machine learning, and natural language analysis with insights and theories from social, behavioral, and clinical science.

Dr. Devesh Ranjan is currently the Associate Chair for Research, Ring Family Chair and Professor in Fluid Mechanics at Georgia Tech's George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering.
His research program focuses on the mixing of materials at extreme conditions, the physics of hydrodynamic instabilities, and advanced power conversion cycles. His research efforts can potentially lead to advances in a number of fields including, energy, environment and most pertinently, inertial confinement fusion devices.
