Summer is upon us, and there is so much going on! We wanted to make sure we touched base with our Freedom Youth Families to fill you in on a few things coming up at Freedom Youth!

*This Sunday (5/30):
Join us as we celebrate our high school and college graduates! We will have a special moment with them during the 11:45 service, so be sure to invite your families if you have a graduate!

*This Wednesday (6/2):
Encourage your students to bring a friend... or two... or five as we get our two-steppin' on during our Texas Summer Rodeo Summer Launch Party! We will have a mechanical bull, Frito Pie, Big Tex from the State Fair... and even a few opportunities for your students (and their new friends!) to win FREE CAMP!

*This Thursday (6/3):
As camp gets closer, we want to make sure we provide opportunities for your students to earn some funds to pay their way to camp! If your student is interested in getting some hours in and making a buck to pay towards their camp payment, drop them off with us this Thursday! From 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, your students are invited to come to our Church Work Day as we tackle a few tasks around the church and even for some local businesses! All financial payment for their time will be directly credited towards their camp account (or towards their friends/siblings if they'd prefer!)

*YOUTH CAMP (7/5-7/9):
We are inching closer to the closing of camp registration. We have a few spots left and know for certain that this could be a week that changes your students' lives. Make sure to get them registered! (Kudos for those who get registered and consent forms in by Monday!)

Hey Freedom Youth Parents!
We hope that you and your family are safe and cozy during this winter storm - can you believe this is happening in Texas?!
We wanted to reach out regarding this week's service plans to give you a quick update. In light of the current weather conditions, we will be canceling Freedom Church Services this Wednesday altogether. This includes adult and youth services.
This means that we will not be having our Red Carpet Night event this Wednesday. However, we are simply POSTPONING Red Carpet Night until NEXT Wednesday, 2/24.

One more thing: Hop onto our Youth Instagram (.youth), and encourage your students to do the same. Check out our recent post about "Freeze The Light"! Pastor Andrew issued a challenge to our students to raise money for Speed The Light - and for every $100 raised before tomorrow afternoon, he will be spending time in the snow! (In shorts and a tank top, to be exact!)

As we start off a New Year, we are eager to spend some time with you, hear from you... and eat with you! Feel free to come with celebrations from this last year and/or questions regarding the coming one.

Hey, Freedom Youth Parents!

We hope that this email finds you well! So much has been happening at Freedom Youth in this season - God's favor and growth are all over this ministry - and we wanted to make sure you are in the loop as we continue into the holidays! Our students are hungrier than ever - I'm sure you've seen them worshiping with all that they have EVERY Sunday morning at 11:45! That's just the tip of the iceberg. We know that there is so much more to come for this ministry and for your specific student!

Read on to see some of the new things coming up!

PASTOR JOEL:
We have hired a brand new Associate Youth Pastor: Joel L'hommedieu! Andrew and I are in this for the long-game and we are so excited that God and Freedom Church have graced us with the opportunity to grow our department! Joel started in our offices this week and is an amazing addition to our team. We are eager to see how God uses him to extend our wingspan into our schools and the hearts of our young people! Here is a note from Pastor Joel:


"Hi there! My name is Pastor Joel L'hommedieu. To start with a little bit about me: I am originally from Illinois - a big Chicago Bulls fan, and a coffee connoisseur! I am a Christ For The Nations Graduate holding a degree in Practical Theology. The opportunity to join the family here at Freedom Church has been nothing short of many answered prayers. I consider myself highly privileged to be the Associate Youth Pastor here at Freedom Youth. Shepherding these students is something I don’t take lightly. I commit to you, as parents of each student, to lead your children in a way that resembles Christ in order that they may purely encounter Him. I look forward to bringing fresh vision, excitement, and pastoral care to this ministry and to your children. If you have any questions for me you can email me at [email protected]. I am so excited to be partnering with Pastor Andrew and Kylie and Freedom Youth, and I am even more excited to meet each and every one of you!

THANKSGIVING FEAST:
Next Wednesday, 11/18, we will be hosting our annual Thanksgiving Feast with Freedom Youth! Each of your students should come home with a list of the items they can bring to participate in this potluck-style event! In the meantime, here is the breakdown:
- Middle School Girls: Desserts; i.e. pies, cookies, etc.
- Middle School Boys: Plates, plasticware, cups, etc.
- High School Girls: Sides; i.e. macaroni, mashed potatoes, rolls, stuffing, gravy, etc.
- High School Boys: Drinks; i.e,. lemonade, soda, tea, etc.

YOUTH CONVENTION/CONVERGE:

North Texas YOUTH CONVENTION is a 2 day event on the first weekend of the year: (January 1st & 2nd) for 6th through 12th grade students. YOUTH CONVENTION serves as a kick off for students to refresh, focus in, and get pumped for all God has planned in the upcoming year. Our focus is whole-hearted worship, scripture-based teaching, and experiences that will create memories for life with your students.

We will be staying over night at Lakeview camp on the evening of the 1st.

HOWEVER. We are hoping and praying that in partnership with the governor and Lakeview, we will have access to additional spots. While not guaranteed, if you'd like to register your student on the waitlist, we will have your info on hand to slide into those spots if they do come available.
