As Ferris once said, “life moves pretty fast. If you don’t slow down once in awhile you could miss it.”

So how do you slow down a brain trained and conditioned to stay alert to stay alive? You have to practice.

Nature can help. Horses can help. The OurWatch team can help.

No horseback riding. No expectations. Just an opportunity to connect with a 1200 pound animal. The only requirement is a willingness to learn.

Because the energy you bring into every moment matters. And if you’re not aware of what that is, it could interfere with connection. And that, my friends, is one of your most vital resiliency tools.

Shoutout to Grapevine Fire & PD along with the Readiness Group for an unforgettable experience. We sure loved having you.

Calling all SPOUSES for an EQUINE WORKSHOP!

You’re walking into the holiday season and as a first responder spouse, while these next few months can bring so much joy, they can also bring many challenges. 🦃🎄❄️🚨Tis the season to be with the ones we love but this job often interferes with that. And just because a jolly dose of mandated overtime may leave you alone more often than you’d like doesn’t mean you have to feel lonely.

We got you!

Join us this Friday, the 4th, from 9am-12pm out on the ranch to recharge, reflect, and gain skills to help you navigate whatever these next few months may have in store for you and your family.

OurWatch uses the beauty of horses- not to ride- but to assist in the process of fueling your system with everything it needs to feel grounded again.

This might be the workshop you didn’t know you needed.

So DM us or call/text (469) 525-6482 and let’s get you out there! Come solo or bring your friends. It’s $95 per person- a sweet holiday discount!

We can’t wait to meet you!.

“OurWatch gave us a safe place to go and discover new and better ways to communicate and support each other. For the first time since 2020 I felt as though we were on the same playing field. I have hope for our future communications and more training to help us grow.” -North Texas Firefighter.

Many come for the experience with uncertainty of what to expect. What will this space- in nature- with horses- provide?

This space is for a better understanding. For a pause in a chaotic world. This space is for reflection, reframing, and recharging. For accountability without judgment. This space is for humans who give so much to others, and want to make sure there is energy left over for themselves and for those who matter most.

This space is for your loved ones. For your brothers and sisters.

This space is for you.

The last 2 weeks of Couples Workshops have been so powerful. Let the dedicated team members of OurWatch support you and your family. DM us now to reserve your spot for our Couples Workshop on August 13!

The activities out at the ranch can be a teaching moment for how we show up in our life and our relationships.

A rough draft to practice assessing one’s approach and responses while making adjustments when necessary. For the first activity these two couples were able to use a halter, with each individual providing feedback from their perspective/position with the horse.

But then we take away the halter.

And these four showed exactly what we do when life gets tough… slow down, make modifications, increase the communication and encouragement, and stick with it with a side dose of grace for self and others.

It was a beautiful process to observe and we’re so thankful all participants today showed up with an openness and willingness to learn.

Thank you Little Elm PD for supporting your officers and their family members with these workshops. The OurWatch team is eager to meet the next group!

Connection is all around us but we have to be grounded in that space to receive it.

This line of work can keep the first responder’s nervous system on high alert— always ready for the next threat resulting in reactivity and readiness. This is not sustainable and can lead to numbing. Hello disconnect.

Come out to the ranch for one of our upcoming couples workshops where we’ll focus on how to regulate the system, how to communicate when triggered, and how to promote active connection in your life and relationships.

Dates are about to be released so stay tuned as spots go fast! We’d love to have you!

Grateful for our newest addition to the team: DENA.

Prior police officer, licensed therapist, and an incredible equine therapist. Connection is her forte and we’re so excited for what this expansion to Oklahoma means for our first responders and their families.

Stay tuned for more updates and upcoming workshops!

Award winning producer, , came out to OurWatch to capture the power between first responders and horses for his upcoming documentary, .

This line of work is one that will change the way your system responds to its environment, which directly impacts day to day tasks, relationships, mood, sleep, and awareness.

We learn best when we experience.

The groundwork exercises out at the ranch are some of the most impactful methods to create new and positive associations for the first responder’s system. With help from the OurWatch team the first responder (and family members) can gain immediate feedback on their approach, how to regulate their hijacked nervous system, and on the unhelpful patterns that may be showing up in their lives.

The team, both humans and horses, is incredibly honored to be showcased in this must see documentary that will premiere on National First Responder Day, October 28, in Washington DC. We’ll keep you updated with how to watch.

In the meantime, know we are determined to get this important message of first responder support and wellness out there.

Incredible event hosted by this past week to honor fallen officers and firefighters. is a non-profit dedicated to providing immediate financial assistance to the family members of those lost in the line of duty. The outpouring of support was overwhelming and exactly what these first responders deserve.

OurWatch was honored to share in the experience. Reach out to us today to join in on the next workshop or to organize a private session for your department, family, and friends.

While the Texas storm brought additional stress to all police and fire departments, Dallas PD was hit especially hard losing one of their own to a drunk driver as well as two other officers shot.

All within days of each other.

This line of work takes its toll on the human soul, which is why OurWatch was honored to provide a space for healing for these officers this past week. ATO (Assisting the Officer) took the extra steps to assure their brothers and sisters were taken care of and what better way than through the therapeutic power of horses. The OurWatch team was highly impressed by their openness, their support of one another, and their willingness to learn and share in the experience together.

If your department could benefit from recovering from recent events, both physical and emotional traumas, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

We will continue to hold Dallas PD and their families in our hearts during this challenging time.
