Research Participants Needed!!

Our Livable Black Futures Storytelling Research Project is recruiting participants to be a part of our upcoming session in April.

We are seeking participants who have been formerly incarcerated and have had experiences with obstetrics and gynecology while incarcerated. This research aims to bring all voices into the fold as we work toward reproductive justice. Participants will receive compensation per session for their time. White Privilege and Its Impact Against Black America

Well look what we have here…

Even on the hills of Georgia’s historic moment, white privilege, systemic racism, and white debauchery continues to rear its ugly head. The chain of events that unfolded on the steps of Capitol Hill is a constant reminder how this country operates by two different sets of standards.

When protesters took to the streets last summer in the wake of the murders of George Floyd and Breanna Taylor, they were met with rubber bullets, hoses, pepper spray, and live rounds. Peaceful, seated protestors were hosed and threatened by police in helicopters. It is unimaginable the carnage Black folk would have been subjected to had they done anything remotely close to what transpired this week at the capitol. The words etched in the Declaration of Independence “We hold these truths self-evident; that all men are created equal” couldn’t be further from the truth.

When the smoke clears, when the glass is all swept up, we will see that those who objected to collective progress are ultimately a bunch of closed minded people driven by the ugliness this country was founded on.

Join The Street Team on January 8th via Facebook Live to discuss the topic, "White Privilege and Its Impact Against Black America."

2020 has been a rough year. We've all been affected by COVID-19 in some form or fashion. So now we look into 2021 with a new perspective. We will be doing a 3 part series on issues that face Black woman. Such as HIV,
Domestic Violence, High Blood Pressure, Cancer, Strokes, Heart Attacks, Diabetes, etc. In the midst of the Pandemic. There are no experts at this time. Just lived experience. But if you know of anyone that can volunteer their time. We would appreciate it. More info will be coming. We are looking toward late January or early February
