Please consider joining the Dalworth Soil & Water Conservation District (DSWCD) and the Natural Resources Conservation Service (USDA-NRCS) on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at TRA’s General Office in Arlington, TX. Local input is needed to help determine local natural resource priorities for USDA-NRCS and DSWCD conservation program planning. Feature programs will include Lone Star Land Steward by Chase Brooke, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, Wildlife Habitat Management by Rachel Richter, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, and Erosion Control Practices by Matthew Orwat, Dallas County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension. Heather Firn will provide updates on the Joe Pool Lake and Village Creek-Lake Arlington Watershed Workplan, and Helen Dulac will provide an overview of Grow North Texas services.

DSWCD and USDA-NRCS are asking producers and small acreage landowners to join city staff, county staff, TRA, partner agencies and elected officials to participate in this meeting. Please share with your network!

Plan to join us beginning at 9:00 a.m. for registration. The program will begin at 9:15 a.m. and end at 12:00 p.m.

Check out this funding opportunity with USDA. Deadline is May 29th!

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced a second national deadline for agricultural producers and landowners to apply for fiscal year 2026 assistance in the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP). The deadline to apply is May 29, 2026. NRCS is providing up to $200 million in funding for the application period for agricultural land easements. Submit an application today!
