What better way to celebrate the beginning of summer than with a 🍦 Scoops of Summer Art Workshop! ☀️✨

I had so much fun curating and planning this upcycling art experience for little artists. Each year, I continue learning new ways to make my workshops more engaging, meaningful, and creative for children.

This marks my third year leading workshops for young learners, and I am incredibly grateful for every opportunity to create, explore, and grow alongside them.

A special thank you to Imagination Station for their continued collaboration and support. 💛

In this workshop children transformed recycled grocery bags into colorful ice cream sculptures using paint, fiber fill, and sweet decorative details. ♻️🍦 From waste to wonder, their imaginations brought each sculpture to life! 🥹

I am so proud of these little artists and the creativity they shared today. 🌈✨

Would you like me to share the lesson plan, station setup, and materials list for this workshop? Let me know in the comments! 👇😊

What happens when students use art to speak for our oceans? 🌊

Our Create to Connect Art Club proudly presents Woven Tides, a student-led environmental art exhibition created from discarded plastic materials.

Through this project, students explored ocean conservation, community action, and the power of art to inspire change.

We are incredibly grateful to have our story featured by and to share our students voices within our community!

✨ Student Art. Real Impact.

WOVEN TIDES 🌊

Woven Tides now exhibiting at Dallas City Hall! Starting May 8th-June 2nd

A BIG thank you to for the opportunity to feature our students artwork. I’m so proud of everything they have accomplished this year. 🥹 This community-based project has allowed our students to connect to real world issues and gain an deeper relationship with our oceans.

Our artwork features two woven representations of the ocean, one where the coral reefs thrive and the ecosystems are flourishing. The other woven ocean on the right symbolizes the current state of certain ocean ecosystems that have been destroyed due to overfishing and plastic pollution.

Our inspiration comes from Ocean’s Documentary.

We are truly grateful for the enriching gift this project has given us, we hope it can inspire you.

Before our students were featured on NBC 5…
before Dallas City Hall…

There was simply an idea 💛

An idea to teach students that art can do more than create something beautiful, it can create awareness, spark conversations, and inspire change.

Over the past few months, our Create to Connect Art Club transformed reclaimed plastic bags into woven artworks inspired by the beauty of our oceans and the environmental threats they face.

And today… we install “Woven Tides” at Dallas City Hall 🥹✨

A BIG thank you to for providing us with a grant that helped make this project possible. Your support empowered our students to use creativity, collaboration, and environmental awareness to make a real impact.

Today was a moment I’ll never forget 💛

Our Art Club was featured on the news , sharing how our students are using art to raise awareness about ocean conservation 🌊🎨

Even more exciting—our artwork will be featured at next week!

From collecting plastic bags to transforming them into woven works of art, my students are learning that their creativity can make a real impact on the world.

I’m so proud of them and the voices they are becoming. This is bigger than just creating—it’s storytelling, advocacy, and bringing attention to real-world issues that affect all of us.

I’m so honored to share this moment… 🥹

I’ve been invited to lead a sensory art workshop for Baby Day at the Dallas Museum of Art 💛

I’ll be guiding little ones (ages 1–4) through a special experience called:

Tiny Fossils: Little Hands Pressing Through Time

Together, we’ll explore texture, imagination, and early mark-making by creating our own “fossils” using clay and natural material.
