If you live in North Texas, you should be aware that heartworm disease is a serious concern. And what you may not know could harm your dog! Recently, we have learned that there are heartworm strains in North Texas that are resistant to ivermectin, the main ingredient in Heartgard. So if your dog is on Heartgard, he or she may not be protected. We encourage you to consult your vet on the best monthly heartworm preventative.

Because you said YES, we can say YES. 💛🐾

North Texas Giving Day is over, and we are overwhelmed with gratitude.

To everyone who donated, shared our posts, told a friend about GRRNT, or cheered us on: THANK YOU.

Because of you, when the next call comes, we can be ready.

🐾 When a Golden needs emergency veterinary care, we can say yes.

🐾 When a frightened dog needs a safe foster home, we can say yes.

🐾 When a senior needs comfort, love, and a soft place to land, we can say yes.

🐾 When the next Baxter, Chance, Max, Candy Bear, or Wild Bill needs us, we can say yes.

Every rescue story begins with someone deciding that a dog deserves another chance.

On North Texas Giving Day, that someone was YOU.

From all of us at Golden Retriever Rescue of North Texas and from the Goldens whose lives your generosity will touch: thank you for believing in second chances.

Your gift. 🎁 Their second chance. 💛

💛 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗮 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲. 💛

To everyone who has already given to GRRNT on North Texas Giving Day: THANK YOU! 🐾 Your generosity is helping make the next rescue story possible.

But the day isn’t over, and neither is the need.

📞 The next emergency call could come tomorrow.
🏥 The next Golden may need lifesaving medical care.
🏡 The next frightened dog may need a safe foster home.

Your gift today helps make sure we’re ready.

$25. $100. Whatever amount is meaningful to you. Every donation brings hope and a second chance to a Golden Retriever who needs us.

🐾 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.

Because the next Golden is counting on us. 💛

📞 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀.

We never know who will be on the other end.

It might be a family facing an impossible decision. A veterinarian calling about an injured Golden. A shelter that has run out of space. Or a Good Samaritan who has found a frightened stray wandering alone.

What we do know is this: 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮 𝗱𝗼𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲.

When the call came about Baxter, a 14-week-old puppy fighting to survive after being hit by a car, GRRNT said 𝗬𝗘𝗦.

When Max needed a permanent foster home, we said 𝗬𝗘𝗦.

When Chance needed to be saved, we said 𝗬𝗘𝗦.

And when senior Goldens Candy Bear and Wild Bill needed a new home where they could stay together, we said 𝗬𝗘𝗦.

The next call hasn't happened yet.

Or maybe it already has.

That's why GRRNT must always be ready. We can't wait to raise the money when a dog needs emergency surgery. We can't ask an injured Golden to hold on until the funds are there.

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗮 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝘂𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗬𝗘𝗦. 💛

Your North Texas Giving Day gift helps make that possible—providing emergency veterinary care, foster supplies, safe shelter, and the promise that a Golden in need won't face what comes next alone.

We don't know whose story we'll be writing next.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽, 𝘄𝗲 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝗱.

Please make your North Texas Giving Day gift today and help GRRNT be ready when the next call comes.

Because every Golden deserves someone who will pick up the phone and say:

“𝗪𝗲'𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽.” 🐾💛

𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗯𝘆𝗲. 💔

After years together, these two senior Goldens were inseparable. But when their beloved dad passed away and their mom began facing health problems of her own, she made the incredibly difficult decision to ask GRRNT to find them a new home.

She had just one request: 𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.

For two old friends who had already lost so much, separating them was never an option.

Then the perfect adoption application arrived.

Their future mom wrote, “I admire the bond they share, and I would consider it a privilege to keep them together.”

Today, Candy Bear and Wild Bill are thriving on two beautiful country acres -- exploring, soaking up the sunshine, and enjoying their golden years exactly where they belong: side by side. 💛🐾

Sometimes rescue means emergency surgery. Sometimes it means saving a neglected dog.

And sometimes, it means making sure two old friends never have to say goodbye.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗧𝗲𝘅𝗮𝘀 𝗚𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆, 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗚𝗥𝗥𝗡𝗧 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 “𝘆𝗲𝘀” 𝘁𝗼 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹.

Because after a lifetime together, the best happy ending is one they can share. 💛
