As a company we acknowledge that there is a shortage of classes and self help programs that are offered in the US Judicial system. We are here to help give incarcerated individuals that second chance at life. During a period of incarceration, we understand the importance of rehabilitation classes and how they are a vital source to show the courts, the parole board, case managers, and victims that you have been attentive in recovery.

Gearing up for International Pride month, we are so excited to have been invited as a vendor to participate at the local Carrollton Pride here in Texas. If you are in the area, please come visit our table June 4th from 11am-3pm where we will be raising awareness for our mission.

We will be handing out swag, and selling T Shirts while supplies last. Each shirt sold will result in 1 book donated. We want to wish a very happy Pride Month to all of our LGBTQ+ incarcerated and rehabilitating members 🏳️‍🌈

Today is for you

In February 2020 in Brunswick, Georgia Ahmaud Arbery was out for a jog around his community when he was approached by three men: Travis McMichael, Gregory McMichael and William "Roddie" Bryan and fatally shot to death.

This was not only an act of targeted racism but a chauvinistic behavior towards the black community.

As of today, the three men involved in Arberys death have been held accountable and found guilty.

Julius Jones was scheduled to be executed today November 18th, despite the pardon and parole board's recommendation for communication. However, hours before Julius was set to be executed, Oklahoma Governor Stitt had commuted Jones' sentence to life without the possibility of parole. We are standing in solidarity with the family, loved ones, and activists who have been fighting tirelessly to stop his ex*****on.

He is an innocent man.

Julius Jones' race matters, and how this case is treated speaks to whether or not the state of Oklahoma cares about its Black residents.

The death penalty is inherently racist. The odds of receiving a death sentence are nearly four times higher if the defendant is Black. More than 41 percent of those on death row are Black - which is three times more than 13 percent of the general population of Black Americans.

“When I came in I was 15. I was sentenced in 90-years-to-life. I can’t parole until 72 years. Technically, they can’t give you a life sentence, but they did. Washed, means, like, i’ll get rid of you. I’ll wash you away. You’re washed by an institution. An institution that can do that to people… but i’m going to keep myself positive.” - D.D., age 17.

This story is one example of the many injustice experiences for juvenile incarcerated persons. People in these systems need help- they need rehabilitation, support, professional care, access to mental health care and even a self-help curriculum where these individuals can work to re-enter society safely.

That is why it is important to donate to organizations that work to assist incarcerated folks with proper treatment.

We are here to help.

A jury has found Derek Chauvin guilty of second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in the death of George Floyd. Although justice is prevailed in the case of George Floyd, the work to fight against police brutality, white supremacy and reforming the american criminal justice system is far from over.

Today we recognize International Transgender Day of Visibility. On this day March 31st, we recognize human rights, raise awareness and celebrate the contributions in the transgender
Community. As we reflect on today, it is important to know that trans people are still disproportionately incarcerated. BIPOC transgender people have especially high rates of incarceration.

1 out of 6 trans people have been incarcerated, including 1 in 2 Black trans people. While behind bars, trans people are subject to systemic violence. They are regularly denied access to essential healthcare, subjected to high rates of solitary confinement and sexual assault, and are routinely misgendered. It is imperative to recognize that this injustice is happening within our own judicial system. It is so important, that trans individuals are given the needed rights and protections behind bars.

During this time we want to stand together in solidarity with our Asian brothers and sisters who have been deeply affected by the rise of Asian-hate crimes towards their community. We must do better. We must recognize that this type of injustice, racism and violence shall not be tolerated. We will not be silent.

“If it took the white majority more than two hundred years to understand that slavery was wrong, and approximately one hundred years to realize that segregation was wrong (and many still don’t understand), how long will it take them to perceive that American criminal justice is evil?” -Paul Butler

Quote taken from “Have Black Lives Ever Mattered?” This collection of short meditations written by author Mumia Abu-Jamal captures the past two decades of police violence that gave rise to Black Lives Matter while digging deeply into the history of the United States.

As a visionary leader Martin Luther King Jr. set out to affirm a racially just America. Today we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., an icon of the civil rights movement who paved the way for generations. These words of his are as meaningful and relevant as ever: “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character- that is the goal of true education.”

The image above is a photo of Dr. King (1929-1968) addressing crowds during the March on Washington at the Lincoln Memorial, Washington, D.C., where he gave his famous ‘I Have A Dream’ speech.

We want to thank everyone who has taken the time to visit our page to learn more about our cause. We would also like to thank everyone who has supported Adversity Campaign by donating. Your donations will go directly back into the community where we will send our courses and educational resources to folks who currently in the system. The issue with other self help programs out there today, is that they are not easily accessible to all incarcerated people or that programs out there offer these courses at an unreasonably high price. With the United States having the highest population of people incarcerated at 2.3 million people, we believe our concept can help make a difference for positive change. There is still a lot of work to be done, but please continue to stay connected and engaged with us.
