From One of our Amazing Graduating Seniors, Sydney Clark:

Growing up, music has been a key part in my life. Whether it be listening to other artists or creating music for myself, it always seems to be a key part in my daily life. As I move into my college years, I wonder about how I will be able to keep up with the cello as well as all of my studies.

When I get to Baylor in the Fall, I plan on first getting settled in and adjusted to my new college life. Whenever I get stressed or things get hard, I use music as something to keep my focus or to take my mind off of whatever it is that is bothering me. If I am given the ability, I will either listen to music of my choice or go find a piano or cello if I am given the opportunity to do so. I also plan on looking into finding small gig groups to perform with occasionally. I plan on getting involved in a church community in Waco, so if given the chance, I have thought about performing at Sunday services. I love my cello and because of the dorm rooms, I may not be able to have my own, but I may be able to go and play on one for leisure.

I have been blessed to have such amazing music teachers throughout my years in school and the skills they have taught me, music and character wise, will continue to ignite within me the passion I have for all that I encounter. Through orchestra, I have been given leadership opportunities and been presented with amazing friendships that will remain with me for a lifetime. As I move onto college, I will be saying goodbye to friends, teachers, and peers, but the skills and talents music has given me, will never leave my side.
