Thank you!!!! Helping the community Rock with Socks!!
*On a single night in 2021, more than 326,000 people were experiencing sheltered homelessness in the United States. Six in ten were individuals—that is, people in households with only adults or in households with only children. Four in ten were people in families with children. It is estimated that
there are over 1400 people living on the streets of Fort Worth. That number is taken from Jan 1, 2022 - Feb 28, 2022. With that being said, I have decided to do what I can to help people who are struggling. I am out in the city driving around all the time and I see people on every corner it seems. So, I asked myself "what can I do to help?” I can't help everyone, but what can I do to make an impact on my community? So I thought about it. Depending on what site you read, the three most sought after items in the homeless community are socks, food and hygiene products. So I came up with an idea. Why not combine these items into one small care package? My basic concept is to take a pair of socks and load the socks with some of these items and a card with resource information. When I see someone out and about needing help, I can easily hand a pair to them. In addition, my goal is to also have some local events at shelters and other places in the near future and hand out these items as well. That is my idea in a nutshell!! If you would like more information on how to help by donating items or funds for items please contact me. The items needed will be listed at the bottom of this section. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and help out!! Lets help some people Rock with a pair of Socks!! Email: [email protected]
