We are so incredibly honored and honestly a little surprised to be mentioned in a recent article by InForney. 🤍

What started as a simple desire to “stand in the gap” for families in our community has grown into something so much bigger than we ever imagined—and being recognized for that is truly humbling.

Thank you to InForney for highlighting the heart behind Forney Legacy Project and helping share our mission with the community we love so much.

This work only happens because of YOU—our supporters, volunteers, and neighbors who continue to show up in big and small ways to care for others. Forney really is special. 🖤

Update on the senior girl we’re helping.

Today, Stephanie (one of our board members) and I got to spend about an hour with her, and I’m just going to say it, she is the sweetest girl.

We brought her some clothes and food gift cards, but more than that, we got to sit, talk, and really hear her, and love in her. We talked about her situation, her future, her immediate needs… and of course, prom this Saturday. We took a few pictures, prayed over her, and before we left, she asked if she could hug us. 🥰

She is so grateful for every single person who has shown up for her. Your generosity is already making a real difference. What’s been donated will help carry her for at least the next month, maybe longer.

And this part just makes my heart so happy:
Someone is buying her prom dress.
Someone else is taking her shopping tomorrow for a dress and shoes, and then to dinner.

This is what a community that stands in the gap looks like.

Here are her immediate needs:
1. Hair for prom (this Saturday)
She needs help getting her hair done (African-American hair). If you or someone you know would be willing to donate your time and talent, please comment below or send us a DM.
2. Texas ID
She needs to get her ID so she can secure her ship date for the Army.
3. Phone support
She may need help with her phone bill or possibly a prepaid phone, since her current plan is tied to her sister that her parents pay for .

Please Scott Koehler with The Boonies Farm in your prayers. He is back in the hospital for the second time in less than a month.

Scott was released 2 weeks ago after surgery and unfortunately he was picked up by ambulance and taken back to the hospital. He isnt able to eat or drink again and is in quite a bit of pain. To say that my heart is breaking for my husband is a huge understatement.

He has given me instructions on how to make sourdough so I should be able to still get Wednesday orders complete. I will text everyone seperately.

Thank you to everyone who has made a donation so far and shared our post about the high school senior. We love seeing our community and people that live in other cities and states come together to stand in the gap for this young lady and show her how much she is loved by complete strangers. 💙💜🖤

We’ve had people reach out to us wanting to take her shopping for a prom dress, clothes, food, and even offering her a room in their house.

Tara with What’s Poppin (also a FLP board member) has graciously offered to make her store a drop off for gift cards, clothes, food/snacks.

The girl wears a 12/13 junior in shirts and pants. I’m sure on the shoe size yet.

Good morning, friends, family, and donors.

Last night, Forney Legacy Project was contacted by a trusted connection within Forney ISD administration about a situation that truly breaks our hearts.

We have a young lady who is a senior in high school that was put out of her home. She was found by school police sleeping at one of the elementary schools. Her counselor shared that she is a great kid, has never been in trouble, and is working hard to finish strong—she’s set to graduate in May and has plans to serve in the military.

Right now, she just needs a safe place and support to get through these next few months.

Because of your generosity, we were able to step in immediately and cover a hotel for the next couple of nights. Her counselor is also making sure she gets to and from school each day.

Now we’re asking our community to help us continue to stand in the gap for her.

Needs include:
• Hotel expenses
• Clothing
• Toiletries
• Food & water (lunches and dinners)

Gift cards to places within walking distance of her hotel would be especially helpful—Taco Bell, McDonald’s, Waffle House, Chicken Express. The hotel does provide breakfast.

We are so excited and truly blessed to share that Forney Legacy Project has been voted Best General Non-Profit in Best of Forney!

Last year, we were humbled to be named the runner-up, and to now be recognized as first place this year makes this moment even more meaningful.

And this year, this award means so much more because we are celebrating 5 years as a nonprofit. What started as a simple mission to stand in the gap has now grown into something far greater than we ever imagined. Now our mission is to stand in the gap, bring hope, and change lives.

This recognition isn’t just ours, it belongs to:

Every family member of ours who supports us

Every partner who believes in our mission
Every vendor who has a booth at our markets
