Since October 7th, the Israel Defense Forces have called upon an unprecedented number of reservists—students, business leaders, and professionals from all walks of life—each of them setting aside their daily routines to defend Israel.
Amid this upheaval, Friends of the IDF provides mobile workspaces equipped with furniture, internet, and power outlets. These spaces are not just practical conveniences; they are bridges between the lives these reservists have paused and the futures they will return to. Here, they can continue their education, manage their careers, and remain connected to their loved ones.
With your support, FIDF helps ensure IDF soldiers may seamlessly step back into the worlds they’ve fought to protect. Learn more here https://bit.ly/3FcmN5D

The soldiers of Israel—those who risk their lives and, heartbreakingly, those who gave them—stand not as abstractions of bravery but as vivid, immediate truths, lived and felt. Their unyielding courage shapes the fragile now, safeguarding the uncertain future. Their sacrifice, memorable and profound, weaves itself into the fabric of our shared history, a memory that refuses to fade, becoming both a beacon and a burden.
To the families who bear this loss and to the loved ones who remain, we extend not just sympathy but something deeper—a recognition of the gravity and permanence of what has been given. And we say: may their memory be a blessing. Not just now, but always. Forever.

At FIDF, our Recharge Events provide IDF Soldiers with essential opportunities to rest, recharge and connect. This year alone, we have organized 101 events, supporting 64,510 soldiers.
Michal Herchcovitz, IDF Casualty Officer for the Nahal Brigade and FIDF's Manager of Wounded and Bereaved Families Program, reflects on the brigade's powerful mantra of "The human advantage lies in the people of the brigade". She emphasizes the importance of Recharge Events, sharing "It gives them the strength to return to their mission with renewed determination and high morale, ready to continue their essential work." This serves as a true testament to how moments of rest and connection can make a lasting impact.

FIDF's IMPACT! scholarship program provides four-year scholarships to former combat soldiers from low socio-economic backgrounds. This year, we proudly dedicated our 23rd IMPACT! event to the superheroes of the IDF—our reservists—whose bravery and dedication continue to inspire us all. We welcomed 1,180 new scholarship recipients into the IMPACT! family and celebrated incredible stories of resilience, generosity, and the life-changing power of education.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who makes this transformative program possible, and here's to a successful academic year for our 3,500 IMPACT! recipients!
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Bernard Marcus z"l, an extraordinary philanthropist, visionary, and longstanding Friend of the IDF. His memory will forever be an inspiration and a blessing to us all. Our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.

In an extraordinary display of preparedness and partnership, the Field Hospital drill underscores the Friends of the IDF (FIDF) mission and your donations’ unique role in supporting Israel’s defenders. Witnessing doctors, midwives, paramedics, and logistics experts—many reservists themselves—transform a field into a fully functioning hospital in hours was nothing short of astonishing. Together, we built triage units, operating rooms, labs, and essential spaces with the focus and precision of seasoned teams prepared for anything.
Day two brought real tests, simulating front-line injuries. The team worked tirelessly in sweltering conditions, supported by FIDF’s critical backing in health, well-being, and education. This collaboration isn’t just logistics—it’s an urgent commitment to the lives of Israel’s protectors. And in these moments of teamwork and resilience, the profound impact of your support comes to life. To learn more and join our cause, visit fidf.org

Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) is a non-political, non-military organization that provides for wellbeing of the soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), veterans and family members. We are the single organization authorized to represent the IDF across the United States and Panama, as designated by Lt. Gen. Gadi Eisenkot, IDF Chief of the General Staff in March 2017 and by Lt. Gen. Aviv Kohavi, IDF Chief of the General Staff in February 2019.
The Israeli government is responsible for training IDF soldiers and providing them with the necessary tools for their service. FIDF is committed to providing these soldiers with love, support, and care to ease the burden they carry on behalf of the Jewish community worldwide.
Established in 1981 by a group of Holocaust survivors under the leadership of John Klein z'l, FIDF is a 501c3 not-for-profit corporation that operates 20 regional offices in the United States and Panama, with headquarters in New York City.
With the growing number of Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) supporters across Texas, in July of 2019, the FIDF Texas Region went through a restructuring and split into a North Texas Chapter and a South Texas chapter, under separate leaderships. Yoram Avneri was appointed Chairman of the Board by his close friend Major General (Ret.) Meir Klifi-Amir, FIDF CEO and National Director. At a time when Israel faces increasingly hostile threats, Mr. Avneri’s personal mission was to expand the Texas Region to include an FIDF North Texas chapter. It took two years, but thanks to his perseverance, along with the support of caring lay leaders who took it upon themselves to host parlor meeting during that time, Kathi Ravkind Sebastian was hired to lead operations as the North Texas Chapter Director. Mrs. Sebastian has close to 30 years of executive experience in the non-profit space, including serving as interim Campaign Director at the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas, successfully leading a $12 million campaign during a time when the economy was facing financial crisis.
The vision of our North Texas chapter is for people of ALL FAITHS in North Texas to be united in supporting the brave men and women of the Israel Defense Forces risking their lives to serve and protect Israel – and the Jewish people worldwide. We stand by the IDF soldiers wherever they are and are committed to supporting them during times of increased tension as well as times of stability.
FIDF has consistently received the highest ratings for accountability and transparency from two of the leading independent charity evaluators: Charity Navigator and Charity Watch. FIDF received the highest 4-star rating from Charity Navigator for the 10th year in a row now—a feat accomplished by only 2% of charities in America, and Charity Watch has bestowed FIDF with their “Top-Rated” seal. Thus ALL revenue raised by the North Texas chapter is allocated DIRECTLY to the educational, cultural, recreational, and social programs and facilities that provide hope, purpose, and life-changing support for over 105,000 IDF soldiers.
Due to the incredible dedication of our supporters from across North Texas, our chapter raised over a half of a million dollars in the first six months and is on track to raise $1 million in 2020!
