Our final event for the year will take place Friday, October 16th from 8am to 2pm. This is the Carson Leslie Foundation Benefit 3D Shoot. For IBA Members only there is a special price of $75 tax-deductible contribution. There will be 2 - 20 animal 3D courses available, as well as lunch and raffle items. Max distance for red stake is 35 yards and max distance for blue stake is 42 yards.

The ENTIRE range on Friday 10/16 from 7am to 2pm for the event.

Update!

The decision has been made to reschedule the Carson Leslie 3D Bow Shoot to Friday, October 16th.

After talking with donors, club members, and participants through texts, phone calls, and emails, it is believed that this is in the best interest of everyone involved.

The goal is to have a great event while also making sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience.

We appreciate your support of the Carson Leslie Foundation and look forward to seeing everyone on October 16th!

Fellow IBA Members

Thankfully the summer is winding down. We have 2 more events on our 2026 calendar.

On Saturday, September 19th, we will have the annual Doug Girard Whitetail Shoot and garage sale. Gate opens at 7:30 AM. All ranges are open to shoot. We will have 30 - 3D animals on the tournament range. Hamburger lunch from 11:30 - 12:30. Free to all. Bring any archery equipment you wish to sell or give away. Take everything
you don't get rid of back home. Event ends at 1:30 PM.

On Friday, October 2nd, is the Carson-Leslie Foundation charity event 3D shoot. $75 tax-deductible entry fee for IBA members, $150 for everyone else. Lunch is included and raffle items will be available.

Finally, a sincere thank you to Brad Baker and his students for their creation of new topo maps of each range and the overall property. These will be installed in the near future.

IBA Members

Irving Bowhunters Association is hosting a charity fundraising 3D archery tournament for the Carson Leslie Foundation on Friday, October 2nd, 2026. Gate opens at 7am. Registration at 8am. Tournament from 9am to noon.

The Carson Leslie Foundation is dedicated to supporting medulloblastoma research leading to a cure, supporting the lives of kids and teens in the fight, and giving them a voice on the federal level. Click on this link for more information - https://carsonlesliefoundation.org/about/

The tournament will be divided into two classes of 20 3D targets each. The 30 yard known distance setup on the Doug Girard practice range and the other longer known/unknown distance setup on the 3D tournament range.

The entry fee is a contribution to the charity and covers the cost of the shoot, lunch and entry for a raffle. The raffle will include archery related items. In the past, prizes have included hunts, game cameras, sights, etc. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1DHxB3qUU3/?mibextid=wwXIfr

The foundation has asked if IBA members would be interested in participating at a reduced price. As a fundraiser, entry for this event starts at $150. The foundation would like to know how many members would be interested in participating at a reduced price.

Fellow IBA members

You have probably noticed that many of the 3D animals on the practice course have been removed. This has been done to either repair or replace the cores and take inventory of our stock. We have noticed that some of these have been shot with broadheads which, as you know, is ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN. We would ask the membership to help us in policing this policy - no need to be confrontational, just a gentle reminder if you witness this happening and /or report to a board member. If this continues to be a problem, then we will increase membership dues to cover replacing these targets.

Hunting season is around the corner and the broadhead range is good to go. If a target needs attention that you cannot correct while you're shooting, please let us know. If, after our inventory, we have some extra animals, we'll place some on the broadhead range.

The outdoor tournament season at IBA is over, but we have 3 more shoots on the calendar. The Doug Girard whitetail shoot and garage sale on Sept 12th. Club 3D shoot on the weekend of Sept 19-20. The Carson-Leslie charity shoot on Oct 2nd. More details on all of these as we get closer.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Steve Goode, TFAA Board Member and District 7 Field Governor, who tragically lost his life today in an airplane accident.

Steve was a valued member of the Texas Field Archery Association, and his dedication to our archery community will be remembered by many.

On behalf of the TFAA Board of Directors and our entire membership, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Steve’s family, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

IBA will be hosting a TXASA Qualifier this weekend.

The gate will be open and there is no need to close it when you leave on Saturday or Sunday unless the tournament is over for the day.

Only tournament archers will be allowed on the 3-D practice range.

The 100 yd target on the static practice range will be closed.

Archers in the tournament will have priority on the practice ranges prior to the tournament - say like 7-9am. Also, if there is a mechanical breakdown during the tournament, the archer will have priority on the practice range to repair any issues but this has a 45 minute limit.

Attention Members,

In a previous post, we announced the need for a work party on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 for the upcoming TXASA 3-D shoot. The Field Captains have decided to repair the targets on the practice at the same time.

Please be aware that the practice range will be closed while the work is taking place. No will be allowed on the practice range. The field range will be open if it is absolutely necessary for you to practice.
