Prosper Historical Society: Community Updates and Announcements
Honoring Our Hometown Heroes, Celebrating Our History,
and Looking Ahead…….
Dear Prosper Historical Society Members,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to share several exciting
updates and important announcements that reflect our ongoing
commitment to honor Prosper’s history, celebrate our veterans, and
engage our community in meaningful ways.
Honoring Prosper Hometown Heroes: Special Ball Cap Initiative
We are pleased to announce a special recognition for our Prosper
Hometown Heroes, who are being honored by the Town of Prosper,
the Town Council, the Prosper Historical Society (PHS), and the
Prosper Rotary Club during designated Town Council meetings.
Each veteran honoree will receive a commemorative Prosper
Hometown Heroes ball cap from this organization, designed as a
symbol of appreciation for their service and commitment to our country.
At the end of this program, a limited number of remaining ball caps will
be made available for purchase on the PHS page.

Town Hall Exhibit:
Celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America

One of the display cases at Town Hall shows the commemoration of the
250th Anniversary of the United States of America. This display not only
celebrates our nation’s milestone but also highlights the current month’s
veteran(s) honoree(s).
Also displayed, in collaboration with Town Hall, the PHS is proud to
recognize the Prosper Police Department, and the Prosper Fire Department,
and their unwavering dedication and hard work to protect and serve our
town and its growing population. We invite all members to visit Town Hall
and view this meaningful exhibit. I would also like to call attention to the
other exhibit at Town Hall which displays the contributions of Prosper’s
founders. Without their roots, abilities, and knowledge of the Town of Prosper,
this display would not be possible. Many thanks to Donna Templin Elliot
and Julie Boyer Vest for investing so much of their time, energy, research
and hard work to the “Then and Now” history of Prosper.
Prosper Historical Markers: Walking Tour Enhancement
We are excited to provide an update on the installation of the Prosper
Historical markers. These markers are carefully crafted replicas of
official state markers and feature QR codes, allowing visitors to easily
access more information about each location using their mobile devices.
The markers will be strategically placed as part of a historical downtown
walking tour, offering residents and guests a unique opportunity to learn
about Prosper’s rich heritage at their own pace.

Community Appreciation
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Town of Prosper officials whose
support makes these initiatives possible, as well as to all PHS members
whose dedication ensures the success of our programs. Your collective
efforts continue to strengthen our community and preserve Prosper’s
legacy for generations to come. *

Upcoming Event Invitation: Collin College, Celina Campus
We are delighted to invite all PHS members to an upcoming event at Collin
College, Celina Campus, on May 7, 2026. This gathering will be an excellent
opportunity to connect with fellow members, and we encourage everyone to
mark their calendars and attend.

Thank you for your ongoing support and enthusiasm for Prosper’s history
and community spirit. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming
events and appreciate your continued involvement in the Prosper
Historical Society.

With sincere appreciation,

Christy S Kreger
