This morning I don’t look to much for a scripture because I know the Holy Spirit will lead me to one. Today, as I was stretching, I picked up my phone to read the message for the day, that’s when I was given Isaiah 43:18-Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?
I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
It’s spring and with it comes storms but the beauty that comes after is something unspeakable. It’s not something we stop and enjoy, but today I stopped and realized that he’s doing a new thing and this was his reminder.

Gained 2 lbs back. Ate the candy. Felt all the feelings. 😅
But let me tell you what I also did — I showed up. To the gym. To the fair. To the doctor. To my community. To God.
This first quarter I’ve been doing the real work:
→ Navigating perimenopause (why aren’t we talking about this??)
→ Reducing actual health risks
→ Healing my relationship with food — roots go deep
→ Getting my mind, body & spirit back in alignment
Our bodies are temples. Stewardship is not a punishment — it’s an act of faith.
I’m not where I want to be yet. But I’m not where I was. And that’s enough for today. 🙏🏾

We went on a walk today. A simple, peaceful, Wednesday evening walk. 😭
My son. My uncle. Me. Golden hour light. A beautiful trail.
Then she showed up.
A turkey vulture. Wings spread wide. On her post. Not moving. Not flinching. Not apologizing for a single thing.
My son and I were SCARED. Uncle wanted a photo. 😂 (That man has no fear and I respect it.)
I genuinely don’t know if she was hunting, guarding her territory, or simply reminding us that blue jays and cardinals could never — but she held that moment with a fearlessness I was not prepared for on a regular Wednesday evening.
She eventually flew off (and yes, she sounded exactly like a turkey, which sent me 😅), and I made it home safely.
But when the dust settled, Matthew 6 found me — “Does your Father not care more about you than the birds of the sky?” And 2 Timothy 1:7 came right behind it — God has NOT given us a spirit of fear.
She defended her post like she had a promise backing her up. No hesitation. No retreat.
And I was standing there in full flight mode. Over a bird.
She became my reminder. God’s provision is real and His expectation of me is courage — not perfection, not fearlessness, but the willingness to hold my post anyway. Even when I’m shaking. Even when it’s unexpected. Even on a Wednesday walk. 🙏🏾🤯

🎆 Happy Birthday, America? 🇺🇸
So the big, beautiful bill passed the Senate and the House…

And today, we’re told to celebrate “the land of the free and the home of the brave.” But let’s be honest:

📚 Public schools are being gutted.
💸 The cost of living is out of control.
🧺 Social safety nets are disappearing.
📉 And our children are being buried under debt.

Meanwhile, the system favors the wealthy, ignores the vulnerable, and calls it freedom.

But real freedom? It’s not about waving flags or political theater.

“Freedom is nothing but a chance to be better.” — Albert Camus

So let’s ask ourselves:
What are we doing with our chance?

Freedom isn’t a one-day celebration — it’s a daily responsibility. Let’s act like it.
