Introducing Lumpkin Girls Sunday Skills!

We’re excited to offer a new Sunday development opportunity for 8U and 10U girls throughout the 2026 basketball season.

These sessions are designed to give players extra time to work on the fundamentals, build confidence, and better understand the game in a fun, structured, and supportive environment. We’ll focus on the little things that make a big difference, including ball handling, passing, shooting form, layups, spacing, movement without the ball, communication, defense, rebounding, and more.

Each Sunday will include a mix of fundamentals, small-group drills, large-group exercises, and controlled mini-games. As the season progresses, sessions will gradually become more competitive while still emphasizing development and teamwork.

Sessions will be led by a combination of Park & Rec coaches, current UNG basketball players, and former collegiate athletes.

Lumpkin Girls Sunday Skills
Every Sunday beginning October 11
2:00–3:30 PM
Lumpkin County Parks & Recreation
Free to participate
Open to 8U and 10U girls of all skill and experience levels

20 Sessions. An Amazing Summer.

What started as a simple idea to give young athletes a chance to move, grow, and build confidence soon turned into something much bigger than anyone expected. Over 20 sessions, BAQ Academy became a place where effort was valued, friendships were formed, challenges were welcomed, and countless memories were created.

This program wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible partnership with the University of North Georgia and the Institute of Peak Performance. Their willingness to support this vision, along with the dedication of physical therapy students, faculty, coaches, and volunteers, created an experience that touched every session.

The greatest pride comes from watching the athletes grow, not just as movers and competitors, but as leaders and young individuals. Their energy, effort, resilience, and eagerness to support each other reflect everything BAQ Academy stands for.

A sincere thank you also goes to every family who believed in BAQ Academy’s mission and trusted the program to be part of their summer. That support made this journey possible and is something that will never be taken for granted.

While today marks the end of this summer program, it is far from the end of BAQ Academy. This summer has laid the groundwork for something that will continue to expand and benefit young athletes for years to come.

Stay tuned for pop-up sessions and new BAQ Academy programs coming soon.

SOUND UP!

We mic’d up a few of our athletes during Session 17… and they absolutely did not disappoint. 😂 From hilarious one-liners to unfiltered reactions, it’s everything you hoped it would be! Behind the laughs was another outstanding session filled with sweat, incredible effort, and athletes continuing to grow stronger with every rep.

The best memories aren’t scheduled.

In a world that celebrates full calendars, we place emphasis on protecting what matters most.

At BAQ Academy, we believe childhood is about building a strong foundation through quality functional movement and giving young athletes the tools to succeed in any sport and in life.

Just as important, we’re committed to developing great teammates, resilient young people, and future leaders. Those lessons are reinforced on the field, but they begin long before practice ever starts.

They begin at home.

Family balance matters. Time together matters. The conversations around the dinner table, weekends spent together, and memories made as a family are part of youth development too.

Strong athletes are built through movement.
Strong teammates are built through character.
Strong young people are built at home.

That’s the foundation we believe lasts.

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day from BAQ Academy! 🇺🇸

Today we celebrate the freedoms that make opportunities like BAQ possible. We are grateful for the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country, protecting the liberties we enjoy every day.

As we help develop the next generation of athletes, we also hope to help develop young people of character who understand the value of hard work, respect, service, and community.

Have a safe and meaningful Fourth of July with your family and friends.

Respect. Encouragement. Discipline.

The heat was relentless, but so was the effort.

Our BAQ athletes showed exactly what this program is about. They encouraged one another, pushed through the heat, and finished another high-energy session with outstanding attitudes from start to finish.

A huge thank you to the University of North Georgia media team for spending the evening with us and capturing the impact of this incredible partnership. The athletes had a blast checking out Willie Lewis, UNG’s iconic Jeep, and taking photos with Air Nigel.

We’re proud of every athlete who continues to show up, work hard, and get better every single session.

Respect. Encouragement. Discipline.
