One step closer! After visiting with Mr. Blackburn the band director at Guthrie High School he has sent us the sheet music for each instrument and it’s the same fight song as ours! He mentioned he has been the band director at Guthrie High School for 25 years and is willing to help share info with our school on getting started. We posted a link on this page showing the Guthrie Band playing the fight song! Go check it out! Oh CHS you’re the one that we love best!!!

We are in contact with the band director at Guthrie High School. The reason for Guthrie is they have the same fight song as Cyril! We are getting the sheet music from Guthrie for each instrument. Winning!!!! History is getting closer to being made! Oh CHS you’re the one that we love best!

From the Class of 1966! Thank you Darryl Rhoads for your generous donation to The Cyril Alumni Association towards Project 2 and that is the return of the CHS marching band! I remember Darryl’s parents Paul and Fannie Rhoads very very well! Again thanks Darryl for your donation and being a part of history back then and now! “Oh CHS your the one that we love best!”

We have talked about this band program very much on here and we are well on the way to make something great happen in our school that hasn’t happened since 1958! How exciting! This will allow the school to reach those students who doesn’t play athletics and not only that but to give them students a chance for a scholarship at the next level. We had a chance to set down and visit with Coach Harman about what students would be able to be in the band and he was very quick to point out that it would start in the sixth grade. If you feel led to give to this cause we would be more than happy. We can tell you that Coach Harman is searching at the very moment for a band director. We have to purchase the starting instruments before 1st of July if for chance it’s after that the instruments will go up 30 to 40 dollars each. “Oh CHS your the one that we love best”.

We are focused in on this project! The CHS marching band is about to be back at Cyril Public Schools! After 68 long years it’s time! What once was a dream is now going to happen in our school! Cyril is the place that you want to be! Excellent high school and Jr high and also a great elementary school! Go PIRATES!!!
