🎒📚 Community Helping Community – Back-to-School Success! 📚🎒
The VFW Post 8905 Auxiliary is honored to support our community by partnering with Cy-Fair Helping Hands for their annual Back to School Bash, helping ensure local children begin the new school year with the supplies they need to succeed.
Auxiliary member Trish Maxwell, along with her husband Calvin Maxwell of VFW Post 8905, and VFW Post 8905 Auxiliary member Sal Cenicacelaya, proudly supported this outstanding community effort. Together, they helped deliver school supplies that were used to fill backpacks for children and families facing financial hardship. During the Back to School Bash, Sal Cenicacelaya also had the privilege of teaching both children and adults the proper way to respectfully fold our Nation's flag, sharing the significance, tradition, and respect that accompanies one of our country's most cherished symbols.
Thanks to the dedication of Muriel Kruger and the incredible volunteers of Cy-Fair Helping Hands, hundreds of backpacks were carefully assembled and distributed to students from Pre-K through high school.
Seeing rows upon rows of completed backpacks and the smiles on the faces of children and their families is a powerful reminder that when a community comes together, lives are changed. Every backpack represents hope, encouragement, and an opportunity for a child to begin the school year prepared for success.
