Plan A mobile medical unit will be here at the Neighborhood Community Center from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm tomorrow, June 17th. They provide free medical services with or without insurance. Services include pap smears, HIV/STD testing, family planning, and blood pressure checks. Plan to visit Plan A when you come to the Happy Helping Kids Free Groceries event from 3 - 4pm.

Are you a teen between the ages of 13-19? Please invite a parent , grandparent, or supportive adult to join you for the LIFT program this Saturday, June 20th, here at the Neighborhood Community Center. Each teen and adult receive their own $75 gift card. Come and learn about relationships and communication and have fun in the process. Lunch and snacks will be provided. Family Connection Region 8 hosted their annual retreat at the Shorter Mansion in Eufalia, Alabama. Rachel Chambless with United Way of Chattahochee Valley presented the Brain 🧠 Architecture Game. Micheal Johnson, our Renion 8 Manager, presented certificates of compliance to each of our 15 counties. We enjoyed an afternoon learning about the importance of relaxation from Brittney Dixion and self-care ideas from Lesley Culver. We finished with a tour of the Shorter Mansion.

The Summer Literacy Campers enjoyed a full morning of excitement. They stated with storytime with Mallie, our library branch manager. Then Mallie took them on a tour of the Bookmobile! It was a busy day at the Happy Helping kids free groceries event, which is provided by the Black Lotus Project from Atlanta. Mallie was here from the library with information on library programs, Christie Boelma. from GA Farm Bureau read a story about the life cycle of plants and made life cycle braclets with the children. Ms. Brock, with the GA Extension, helped the children plant their own seeds. The Food Mill was also here offering locally grown fruits and vegetables. We were able to provide free groceries to over 100 children thanks to the Black Lotus Project and all of our volunteers!
