National Hunting & Fishing
Day
“KIDS” FREE FISHING
EVENT
WHEN: Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 9am to 1pm
WHERE: The Lower Pool Park, Below Buford Dam
WHO: All Kids Age 15 & Under - Must be accompanied by an adult
WHAT: This FREE Kids Fishing Event is hosted by the Cu***ng
Kiwanis Club, Forsyth Cu***ng Optimist Club, The Georgia Wildlife
Resource Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Cu***ng Wal-Mart,
Johnsonville Brats, National Wild Turkey Federation, Chattahoochee
River National Recreation Area, Hammond’s Fishing Center, and the
North Georgia Crappie Anglers.
Volunteers are available to help with baiting hooks and removing fish.
JAKES Take Aim trailer with instructional shooting for kids.
The Buford Trout Hatchery will stock over 2,500 Rainbow Trout at
the Dam on the morning of the event!
A limited number of fishing poles will be available as loaner poles.
Hot Dogs, Drinks, and Snacks will be provided at No Charge!
LIFE JACKETS ARE RECOMMENDED. BAIT WILL BE PROVIDED.
NO FISHING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
Raffle prizes to be given away at the event!

The Cu***ng Kiwanis Club has begun their Annual Pecan Sales Fundraiser to support scholarships given at the High Schools in Forsyth County. These scholarships are presented to one graduating senior from each school, who is an active member of Key Club, our Sponsored Youth Program at the High School level.
The cost for these exceptional pecans is $15.00 per 1lb resealable bag.
The pecans were shelled at the beginning of November, and are fresher, and higher quality, than you will find in any grocery
store. Great for Holiday baking, gifts, or enjoying right out of the bag.

DIRECTIONS TO LOWER POOL PARK
FROM GA HWY 400
Take GA 400 NORTH/SOUTH to EXIT 14
Exit on GA 20 and travel EAST
Turn LEFT at the 1st Traffic Light onto Market Place Blvd.
Con􀆟nue past BJ’s and turn RIGHT at the Traffic Light (Buford Dam Rd.)
Go approximately 5 miles (past West Bank Park) and turn RIGHT into
Lower Pool Park BEFORE TRAVELING OVER THE DAM.
FROM I-85 or I-985
Take 85 to 985 NORTH
Take EXIT 4 to GA 20 WEST toward Cu***ng
Con􀆟nue on GA 20 approximately 7 miles, through several Traffic Lights
Turn RIGHT onto Suwanee Dam Road
Con􀆟nue on Suwanee Dam Road un􀆟l it ends
Turn LEFT onto Buford Dam Road
Travel across the Buford Dam and turn LEFT into Lower Pool Park
Once you are on Lower Pool Park Road
Follow the road under the power lines and down the hill to Lower Pool Park
(drive SLOWLY & take your 􀆟me).

Here is our latest Donation from Cu***ng Kiwanis Club to CONFIDENT Treads. CONFIDENT Threads is a community project sponsored by the Cu***ng Kiwanis Club. It provides clothes for children in need and foster care by working with various non-profits, foster parents and school social workers. Lists of children’s sizes, styles and preferences are gathered to purchase seasonal clothes twice a year. Partnering with the community for funding and Creekside UMC MOPS consignment for private shopping access, red bags are delivered with a week’s worth of outfits for spring/summer or fall/winter.
