The Aquatic Plant Management team will be working to protect the lake—visit the event page for treatment area details, timing, and safety guidance. June 2, 2026:

Hwy. 63 Bridge Replacement:
The south bridge abutment will be poured this week. Next week the roadway approaches on each end of the bridge will be built up. The week of June 15th work on the bridge decking will commence, with concrete installation on the bridge deck currently planned for the week of June 22nd. It will start looking like a bridge soon!

Hwy 63 Resurfacing Charrie Lane to Washburn County line:
The first lift of blacktop is done and the second lift is coming. This project should wrap in the coming weeks.

On behalf of the Cumberland Chamber of Commerce, the City of Cumberland was awarded a Vibrant Spaces grant to transform the parking lot behind the old pawn shop into a year-round gathering place. Exciting news.

We're excited to announce that on behalf of the Cumberland Chamber of Commerce, the City of Cumberland applied for and was awarded a Vibrant Spaces grant! The Chamber will be using the grant to transform the parking lot behind the old pawn shop building into a year-round gathering place and vibrant space. Library patrons and visitors to Library Lake and the downtown business district will soon find an inviting place to read, relax, reflect, visit, and picnic--now 365 days a year instead of just a few days a year during Rutabaga. Watch for exciting renovations starting soon!
