We are incredibly proud to announce that Sandra Smith (Lopez), SHARE!'s Program manager of VPAN (Veteran Peer Access Network) for Supervisorial District 2 (VPAN SD2), has been awarded the Los Angeles Veteran Collaboration SoCal Grantmakers Program Manager of the 3rd Quarter Award! This prestigious honor is driven entirely by the community—individuals are anonymously nominated, and peers from across Los Angeles County vote on who they feel most embodies the spirit of service to our veterans.

Here is what Sandra had to say about receiving this amazing recognition: “Personally, receiving this quarterly award for the first time as Program Manager means so much to me. Being nominated and voted for by individuals who truly share the same passion and mission for serving veterans and their family members makes this recognition even more meaningful. This award also reflects that my team feels I am being the kind of leader I strive to be. My team is the one doing the hard work every day, and being able to bring recognition to us as a team is incredibly meaningful. It reminds us that our dedication, compassion, and hard work do not go unnoticed.”

Thank you, Sandra, for your outstanding leadership, and thank you to the entire VPAN SD2 - SHARE! team for the vital, hard work you do every single day to support our veteran community and their families.

Special thanks to Jim Zenner, Rhonda Higgins, the Los Angeles County Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, and the County of Los Angeles for this incredible honor!

✨ SHARE! is proud to welcome LA Streetlight as a Friend of SHARE!

We are joining forces to support a powerful, FREE app that connects the Transitional Age Youth (TAY) community to life-saving, real-time resources and peer support.📱

We recently met with Shannon Munford, MS, and it was immediately clear that our missions are perfectly aligned. By combining forces, we aim to bridge the gap for vulnerable young people, giving them the tools they need to navigate life's challenges and thrive.

What is the LA Streetlight App?
Built specifically for TAY youth, it functions as a completely anonymous community network. It is 100% free, requires no account setup, and never asks for your personal information. Swipe to watch a video of Shannon Munford explaining exactly how the app works and how it’s changing lives!

The app provides a safe, private tool designed to help users find:

- Housing: Emergency shelter, temporary, or long-term housing.

- Essentials: Local food distribution and vital community resources.

- Safety: Trauma-informed push notifications and real-time safety tips left by other users.

- Connection: Peer support, easily shareable content, and direct access to free support groups at SHARE!’s peer-run centers.

Download the App: Tap or find it on the Apple App Store here: https://tinyurl.com/4f3zxwb2

If you need a safe space, come visit us! You can speak with a peer support specialist who has lived experience and get immediate, judgment-free help with housing, clothing, food, and a supportive community that accepts everyone. SHARE! has two Peer-Run Community Centers in Culver City and Downtown L.A.

🌟 SHARE! Spotlight: Daniel, our newest Peer Support Specialist

Daniel recently completed his internship with SHARE!, turning a vital step in his own recovery into a powerful career of service. By openly sharing his journey and lived experience, Daniel builds deep, meaningful trust with community members who need a relatable voice.

While mastering the ""Tools of the Trade""™ during his training, Daniel shared that one of his absolute favorite tools is ""Capital in the Bank."" By carefully disclosing his own recovery journey, he opens up the conversation to form an instant bond of trust.

For Daniel, this work has brought a whole new chapter of excitement and fulfillment. As he puts it: ""I helped contribute to that smile... It's just a sense of warmth inside."" 💙

A great night celebrating Hub Cities and the power of local leadership.

SHARE! was proud to support Hub Cities as they marked a significant victory for community-based solutions. Thanks to the leadership of Supervisors Janice Hahn and Hilda Solis, Hub Cities will continue serving Southeast LA County and strengthening the communities it has supported for years.

SHARE! has the perfect place to shake off the June Gloom and focus on creating a new life for yourself!

Our Recovery Retreat (Peer Respite) is a free, two-week, peer-run respite program in Monterey Park, California, designed to help mental health consumers discover their potential and achieve their life goals. Operating as a "home away from home," the Retreat provides guests with 24/7 support from peer specialists who have personal, lived experience with mental health challenges, trauma, or addiction.

- Daily Intensive Activities: Focused on independent living skills, stress and anxiety reduction, conflict resolution, and self-esteem building.
- Community Integration: Team members accompany participants to self-help support groups each evening, helping build connections that continue after leaving the program.
- Practical Life Skills: Daily household responsibilities such as cooking, cleaning, and gardening promote personal accountability and self-sufficiency.
