One of the questions we hear most often is:

“What does The Willow Path need most?”

The honest answer is simple: the everyday essentials that keep our shelters running.

In an average week, we typically go through:
• 100 laundry pods
• 40 rolls of toilet paper
• 20 rolls of paper towels
• 60 garbage bags
• 4 cases of bottled water

That equals more than $500 every single month in basic necessities alone.

While these items may seem small, they are essential to providing a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for survivors and families rebuilding their lives after abuse.

Would your business, church, office, civic group, team, or family be willing to adopt one of these needs monthly?

A monthly donation of laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, or bottled water may not seem like much — but to us, it makes an incredible impact.

If you would like to help support these ongoing shelter needs, you can:

Cullman friends, we could use a little help from our village today.

As we gear up for our Back to School event, our shelves are bare in some of the most-needed girls’ shoe sizes. Right now, we have fewer than three pairs total in sizes 11, 12, 13, 1, 2, and 3, and with hundreds of kiddos coming through our doors soon, that simply won’t stretch far enough.

If you’re able, we would be so grateful for donations of new or gently used girls’ shoes in these sizes. Monetary donations of any amount also help us purchase the sizes we’re missing so every child walks into the school year with confidence and comfort.

Every pair matters. Every gift helps. And together, we can make sure no child is left without the basics they deserve.

It's been a minute since I posted and that's because life is busy. One of busy moments was watching my son graduate high school. I thought I'd share this for all of us managing that milestone.

United Way is proud to support World Elder Abuse Awareness Day once again this year alongside our partner agency, Cullman Commission on Aging, and the incredible team at Render Aid Alabama.

Render Aid Alabama is a local nonprofit dedicated to advocacy, awareness, and community support efforts. Their mission focuses on normalizing compassion for humanity while bringing awareness to important issues that impact vulnerable populations throughout our community.

We are honored to be part of this event as a vendor supporting our seniors and helping advocate for the safety, dignity, and well-being of older adults in our community. Events like this help educate families, connect seniors with valuable local resources, and shine a light on issues that too often go unnoticed.

We encourage everyone to come out on June 12th to support this important cause, visit local vendors and agencies, and stand together in support of our senior community.💜
