Boys & Girls Clubs of Citrus County Three locations offering programs in education, healthy lifestyle choices and leadership to empower the youth of our community to BE GREAT!

Boys & Girls Clubs of Citrus County are open to all children aged 6 to 18 years regardless of income, race, or religious belief. The Clubs have served thousands of children over the last 20 years through before and after school programs and full day camps during school holidays and summer months. The 3 Boys & Girls Clubs of Citrus County sites, located as neighborhood clubs to benefit the greatest

number of children, are the Central Ridge Boys & Girls Club located in Beverly Hills, the Evelyn Waters Boys & Girls Club located in Inverness, and the Robert Halleen Boys & Girls Club located 4.9 miles equidistant between Crystal River and Homosassa. The Clubs offer daily access to a broad range of programs in five Core Program Areas: Education and Career Development (including technology), Character and Leadership Development, Health and Life Skills, The Arts, and Sports, Fitness and Recreation.

What an incredible first day of Life Camp!

Our Members had the opportunity to explore several important parts of our community while learning valuable life skills along the way.

The day began at the courthouse, where Members participated in a mock trial and gained a firsthand look at how our justice system works. From there, they visited the historic Valerie Theatre, where they toured the stage and learned about the impact of community theater and the arts.

The learning continued at Brannen Bank, where Members received a tour of the bank and learned the importance of budgeting, saving, and financial responsibility. They also picked up a practical life skill by learning the basics of sewing, including how to sew a button, before wrapping up the day with CPR training.

We are incredibly grateful to the organizations, volunteers, and community partners who invested their time and knowledge in our youth. Opportunities like these help prepare the next generation with the skills, confidence, and experiences they need to succeed.

Our Members spent the afternoon tearing, dipping, layering, and creating as they worked on their own paper mache cups. What started as strips of paper and a bowl of paste quickly turned into an exciting hands on art project filled with creativity, laughter, and plenty of sticky fingers.

The tables may need a little extra cleaning, but the smiles made every bit of the mess worth it. We can't wait to see the finished masterpieces once they are painted and decorated!
