🌼😍 LEDA 😍🌼
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but that doesn't mean it always tells the whole story. Leda's foster mom got this shot of her sleeping soundly with a tiny smile on her face. That's the face of a pup who knows she's safe and loved. 💞
That's not the face this baby girl had when we first saw her. 🥺 She was terrified, withdrawn, and worried. Plus, she was in awful condition and was not at all healthy.
But now? She's learned what it's like to live and not just try to survive. Her foster family has given her so much love, and she's absolutely blossomed in their care. She's still working on being the bravest girl around, but she's happy, healthy, and ready to write her next chapter. 📚 This is what fostering is all about, and this is why our fosters are the heartbeat of our rescue. 💓

🤎🐶 WELCOME, ENZO! 🐶🤎
Remember the big boy we posted with the awful cherry eyes? Thanks to an awesome foster who stepped forward, "Enzo" officially joined the I Am Dog Rescue family yesterday! 👏
He arrived in rough shape. He was dirty, uncomfortable, and clearly worn down, but his foster mama gave him what he needed most...time to feel safe. After a good night’s rest, Enzo got a gentle bath this morning and is starting to relax. 🥰
He’s already had light introductions to his new furry foster siblings, and it went very well. He might even have his paws crossed that his biggest foster brother will become his new best buddy. 🐾
Enzo’s path to healing is just beginning. He’ll need to be neutered, and he'll need to have surgery on both eyes to address his cherry eyes. He is underweight, and his skin needs care. He also has some wounds on his neck from a prong collar that was used improperly. 😢 He’ll have his intake exam soon, and we’re all hoping he tests negative for heartworms. 🤞
🙌 For now, we just want to welcome this sweet, resilient boy and let everyone know he’s safe. 🤩

A few weeks ago, we met Dante, a senior boy whose body told a story of long neglect and quiet suffering. You might recall that he had to be shaved under anesthesia because his coat was so matted. 😢
Thanks to your generosity, we raised $675 of his $880 goal for his initial vet care, and the transformation since then has been incredible.

Dante’s bloodwork has improved, his energy is returning, and he’s finally learning what comfort feels like. He's his foster mama's little shadow, but his journey isn’t over yet.

His vet team believes a dental procedure could make a real difference in his kidney values and help him feel better every single day.
🤑 The estimate for his dental is roughly $500–$1200, and he’s already on an expensive prescription kidney diet to keep him stable.

🥳🙌 SAMMY UPDATE 🙌🥳
This sweet floof couldn't be happier to be out of his crate. He just finished Day 30 of his heartworm treatment recovery period, and he got to get out of his crate and start easing back into normal activity. 🤩
He is so relieved and thrilled to be out, and his little pal is happy too! 💞
Kudos to his foster family for making it through! Sammy will work over the next week or so to build up his strength as he eases back into his day-to-day fun.
This is your reminder to give your dogs heartworm prevention.
❤️‍🩹 Treatment is no fun.

🐾 Housebroken and well‑mannered. He never has accidents, even when left alone all day.
🐾 Sleeps through the night. He loves to sleep right in the bed, snuggled close, but he knows that's just a perk and not always possible.
🐾 Loves to play outside, especially when he's chasing squirrels with great enthusiasm.
🐾 Not food motivated, but praise and affection are his love language.
🐾 He loves everyone, but he would love to be man's true best friend. He bonds quickly and strongly.
🐾 Loves other dogs as long as he’s not on a leash. He isn't bad on the leash but hates feeling restrained from making a new friend. Once free, he greets politely and happily.
🐾Gets excited meeting new people. He may jump, but he’s easily redirected and means well.
🐾Not aggressive at all. He's just a big, playful boy who doesn’t realize his size.

We require an application to be completed prior to setting up a meet-and-greet. We do not offer "on-the-spot" adoptions. We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. We do our best to match dogs with families that will be a good fit to help ensure a successful adoption. We reserve the right to decline any application for any reason.

Due to the nature of our adoption process, our fosters are usually only able to consider forever families within a reasonable driving distance of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. A vet reference is required, and a trial period will be completed before finalizing the adoption. Thank you for your understanding.

🚨❤️‍🩹❣️ URGENT FOSTER NEEDED ❣️❤️‍🩹🚨
Where are our Cane Corso lovers? We need you. 🙏

This beautiful 3-year-old purebred Cane Corso is in a situation that has changed beyond his family's ability to manage, and unfortunately, he's no longer getting the care he needs. 🥺
He is substantially underweight, has lost even more weight since these photos were taken, and his eyes urgently need veterinary attention. 👩‍⚕️
We are worried about him, and we want to get him somewhere safe where he can begin getting the care he deserves.
🫶 But here's the thing about this boy…
He is still so sweet. ❤️
He's cuddly, perfect for hugging, and is super friendly. He's lived with a small dog and with kiddos and has been a very chill guy. We suspect that once he's feeling better and has some good food in his belly, we may see a little more of that Cane Corso personality and energy come out. 💙

You don't have to figure out his medical care on your own. The rescue will handle his veterinary care and expenses, as well as provide all of the support he needs while he gets healthy. 🤎 You'll also have the full support of our incredible foster network.
👉 We would absolutely love to find someone who knows and loves the breed, but Cane Corso experience is not a requirement for the right foster.
Right now, he just needs someone willing to say:
“Come on, buddy. You're safe now. We've got you.” ❤️‍🩹

‼️ He has lost considerable weight since these photos were taken and urgently needs groceries, veterinary care, and a safe place to recover.
