Please join us in welcoming and thanking Richard D. for stepping forward and taking ownership of the care and maintenance of our outdoor properties. As the first thing many guests, volunteers, donors, and community members see, our grounds tell a story about who we are. Richard's dedication, hard work, and commitment help ensure that our properties continue to reflect the vision, pride, and purpose that drive our organization forward every day.

Over the past several months, our organization has experienced significant changes. While change is not always easy, it often serves as a reminder that growth requires us to evaluate where we have been, where we are, and where we hope to go. Sometimes life, and even the universe itself, has a way of clearing space. It removes what no longer serves a purpose, challenges what has become stagnant, and creates opportunities for renewal. Through these moments, we are reminded that releasing negativity is not a loss, it is an invitation for growth, prosperity, sustainability, and a stronger future.

Every challenge reveals opportunities we may have overlooked. Every difficult moment exposes cracks that need attention, healing, and rebuilding. Rather than allowing obstacles to define us, we choose to learn from them. We choose to grow stronger. We choose to remain committed to our mission of serving those who need us most.

We recognize that change can be uncomfortable. Some longtime supporters, donors, and community members may choose different paths, and we respect their decisions and appreciate the contributions they have made throughout the years. At the same time, we understand that growth often asks us to move beyond fear, beyond uncertainty, and toward a future built on inclusion, compassion, and possibility.

What remains unchanged is the heart of our work. Every day, our staff continue the fight against hunger, homelessness, and hopelessness. Our Food Shelf continues to provide essential resources to families and individuals facing food insecurity. Our Security Team works tirelessly to create a safe and welcoming environment. Our Case Management Team continues helping guests navigate some of the most difficult moments of their lives with dignity, respect, and support.

Today, we celebrate a new chapter. We celebrate current staff members who continue to step up, take initiative, and embrace new responsibilities. We celebrate Richard D. bringing new life to our grounds and outdoor spaces. We celebrate fresh energy, renewed purpose, and a collective commitment to moving forward together.

This is not simply change, it is rebirth. It is the opportunity to build something stronger, healthier, and more sustainable than before. It is a reminder that when we release negativity, embrace growth, and remain focused on our mission, we create space for new ideas, new partnerships, and new possibilities.

Thank you, Richard D., for being part of that vision. Your work is helping us create a space that reflects hope, pride, healing, and community. The future is bright, and together we continue to grow. ❤️🌱🏡

To our amazing community,

One of the greatest gifts our organization has is the space we are fortunate enough to call home. Our property provides so much more than a building, it creates opportunities for healing, connection, growth, and belonging.

Together, we are working to develop and maintain a community garden where fresh produce can be grown, life skills can be shared, and people from all walks of life can come together. For many of our guests, spending time outdoors, planting seeds, caring for the earth, and simply sitting in nature provides a sense of peace, grounding, and hope during difficult times.

We believe that healthy communities are built when people have access to safe spaces where they can reconnect with themselves, their neighbors, and the world around them. Every flower planted, every vegetable grown, and every conversation shared in our outdoor spaces helps strengthen that vision.

Today, we are reaching out for your support. We are in urgent need of a used riding lawn mower, used push lawn mowers, a w**d wacker, and a wheelbarrow. If you have any of these items sitting unused in a garage, shed, or storage area, we would be incredibly grateful if you would consider donating them to our organization. Your generosity helps us maintain our grounds, care for our garden, and continue creating welcoming outdoor spaces where people can gather, heal, learn, and thrive.

Community is not built by one person, it is built by neighbors helping neighbors, by acts of kindness, and by people coming together to create solutions. We are continually humbled by the support this community shows, and we are grateful for every donation, every volunteer, and every person who believes in our mission. Thank you for helping us grow something beautiful together.💛💫

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Old National Bank, formerly recognized as Bremer Bank of Crookston, for hosting a hygiene drive in support of the guests staying at our shelter.

The overwhelming generosity shown through the donation of hygiene products is both humbling and greatly appreciated. While items such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste, deodorant, and other personal care essentials may seem like everyday necessities, they can make an incredible difference for individuals and families experiencing crisis. Access to basic hygiene products helps restore dignity, promotes health and wellness, and provides a sense of normalcy during some of life's most challenging moments.

These donations ensure that guests have access to the essential items they need upon arrival and throughout their stay, allowing them to focus on rebuilding stability and moving forward with confidence.

We are incredibly grateful for Old National Bank's continued support, partnership, and commitment to serving our community. Acts of kindness such as this remind us of the power of compassion and the positive impact we can make when we come together to support our neighbors in need.

Thank you again for your generosity, your community spirit, and for helping us provide comfort, dignity, and hope to those we serve. 💛💫

Today we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to this country. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend, it is a day of reflection, gratitude, and remembrance for those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that future generations could continue striving toward freedom, equality, and opportunity for all people.

As we gather with family, friends, and community, may we also take a moment to recognize the importance of compassion, unity, and caring for one another. In a world that continues to grow and change, let us move forward with kindness, inclusion, understanding, and respect for every individual and every story.

In observance of Memorial Day, both the Donation Room and Food Shelf will be closed today. Services will resume during normal business hours Wednesday.

We wish everyone a safe, meaningful, and peaceful Memorial Day.🎉🎊🪅
